He seemed like a reasonable man. (which would make him quite a gem among the emperors...)
Spoiler
I felt pretty bad for killing him.

I like him far more than Ulfric.

I feel that using the voice in a duel against the High King was pretty cheap.

A brilliant man. Retreated out of the Imperial City during the Great War and then took it back, killing the Lord Naarifin and destroying the entire Aldmeri army in Cyrodiil. A man not afraid to die.

Spoiler
When I finally met him, I didn't want to kill him, but had to. But I made sure Amaund Motierre suffered for it.

I hate how it takes the Night Mother so long to say his name.

Night Mother: EEEEEEMMMPPPUHHHRROOORRR TYYYYYYYDUSSSSS MEEEEEEEEEEEEDDEE TTTTHHHEEEEEE SSSSSEEEECCCOOOONNNNNDDDDDDD!!!

Yeah, she was annoying at that point.

As to how I felt about him? Honestly, I felt bad for him. Most everyone hates him because of the White-Gold Concordant, when he thought it was the only thing that could've saved the Empire at that point. He seemed like a smart man who tried to do the best he can to save the realm from a band of would-be Nazi elves (aka Thalmor).

It's just as bad as using magic in a duel.....

Which you get called out on.

Anyway, I like him. I think too many people think he sold his people for the safety of his throne, but I blame those people for being unable to see potential depth in character rather than the character itself for not outwardly expressing their every whim and strategy in a hostile world full of enemies and spies.

Like Alvor says, Nords have never been fair-weather friends. Many of them trust that the Emperor and the Empire knows what they're doing and that this too shall pass, especially when the majority of the higher-ups in the Legion still secretly worship Talos themselves.

Couldn't agree more.

Think he's a muppet.

The Empire could easily have won that war had he not been so ill-prepared, and there was no reason to cave in to such a harsh peace settlement considering the Thalmor were on their knees as well. As for standing bug-eyed in the face of an assassin he knew full well was coming, it would have been noble had it served a purpose. It didn't. It just planted the seed for feuding over the succession, and another war. Overall a pretty appalling leader, if you ask me.

Unimpressed, for reasons already stated by others.

Do you have any proof to state that Torygg said "No Magic"?

None. But you only said it was the same as using magic in duels, which cancels the duel and gets you ridiculed. The "formal" ones in the form of brawling, anyway. Engine semantics, etc.
