What's your favorite build?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 7:15 am

I have yet to make a build that is my favorite but I really like using dual war axes and heavy armor and I want to use some magic and I want to sneak.

My main and first character is a female nord one handed shield warrior with a bow and no magic what so ever level 30 now

My favourite character build is a strong Nord male equipped with a battleaxe and Nord hero armor. I focus my skills on two-handed, smithing, heavy armor and block. No magic except for the dragon shouts. Pretty simple build, but way fun. Level 29 and soon halfway through the main quest.

I'm really liking my mage/conjurer/archer/sword guy. I even have a little stealth too lol

My highest skill is conjuring. The dremora lord is so tough!

I have played a Altmer Pure Mage, using only mage skills and it was very enjoyable.

My current Nord Warrior who is 2 handed, heavy armour, and smithing focussed is also pretty good.

and I have a assassain/thief in mind for the next character.

Then I guess my favorite will be the best of all the above builds mixed in to one

Female Breton; conjuration, alteration, archery, enchanting. Sommun an atronarch, a bound bow, and off you go. All the goodness of a mage without having to deal with destruction. You could throw in Sneak for a more stealthy build.

I keep seeing people use the term "Build" as if it is somehow relevant to this game. The idea that this game has enough complexity to warrant indepth discussion on how to make a character is hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

Depends, my Altmer uses Sword and Shield while my Bosmer uses Bow and Dual Sword... and my Dunmer uses Dual Dagger with her spells.

Spellsword, because sometimes you need to blow something up, but most of the time you just want to stab it into Oblivion. Best of both worlds.

Female Bosmer Huntress (current char, only my second one though):
* Archery, makes sense as a huntress. This will be fully perked eventually (need to recheck that if it suits).
* Sneak, ditto. Won't perk too high.
* Light armor, no metals, with covering fur being favourite type. The revealing ones doesn't make sense to me in that climate.
* Smithing up to a certain perk level so she can enhance advanced and magic armor.
* Alchemy, to have some magic resistances and healing abilities. Don't plan on spending much perks here though.
* Speechcraft, for the reason of selling her crafted stuff or pure pelts. So, more merchantile than actual speechcraft, which makes sense to me.

I guess I've settled in as sword and shield Nord. I started off the game on release as a 2h, which, to be honest is more fun.. but I like some of lootable items for 1h/shield more. Especially Chillrend and Ysgramor's shield.

Khajiit Assassin/Thief is my favorite thus far. Nord 2H heavy armor warrior was fun, but IMO the assassins risk to reward makes it much more enjoyable.

khajiit thief....not really a thief as I don't use him to pickpocket or steal

archery + sneak = god mode

My khajiit is my favorite but I also have an orc sword & board warrior. Both do not use magic.

Long distance kills are great but there is something very satisfying about getting your hands bloody. Thats why I have two characters.
