Whats so bad about Meridia?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:19 pm

I was just wondering if anyone else thinks that the vigilant of stendarr could benefit from her or Dawnbreaker.

Vigilants are zealots, fanatics, religious nuts.

Remember the Aurorans?
Also, there is that theory that Meridia is actually one of the Magna Re who was actually refused a return to Aetherius at convention, for 'consorting with illicit spectra', and became a Deadric Prince not by intrinsic nature, but by dint of having no place to go but with the other Padomaics at the edge of the Wheel.

Any Daedra, no matter how good they appear is inherintly evil. At least if you believe the teachings of the Eight become Nine become Eight again, or are still Nine whatever you prefer.

Daedra worship is outlawed in most provinces and after the Oblivion crisis is even less popular. If the Vigilantes would suddenly say you can't worship any Daedra except for Meridia then the Orcs would want to worship Malacath freely, the Khajiit and Dunmer would want to worship Azura and the Dunmer would also want to worship Mephala and Boethiah probably.

She does not like undead things whereas my main is a vampire and likes raising the dead. That is enough for me not to like Meridia

Which explains her hatred of undead, and her sphere as being the Prince of light.
She is a vainglorious one though, she likes to be worshiped. Lets not forget Umaril.
Shes less subtle than that blight Azura though.

Nothing, good and evil are human/mer/beast constructs, the Daedric Princes are unconcerned human morality, their choices reflect these values but are not governed by them.

Again, when it comes to the princes, there is no good or evil, only degrees of destruction.

Other than dropping you from hundred feet high? IMO, her hatred for the undead is too much. Too much of something is always a bad thing.

The best trope she applies to would be http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KnightTemplar.

Not to mention that the so called "princes" while seemingly capable of free will and thoughts are totally dominated by their realm of influence. Their actions are a result of their sphere so they don't really choose how to behave; they're like animals, always following an instinct.

The only good Daedra Prince is a dead Daedra Prince. And Daedra Princes can't die.

shes good... for a daedric lord
which isnt saying much
she, along with the other princes, are like greek gods
even the 'nicest' ones in the bunch are still self centered [censored]s who dont actually care about mortals with any deep passion

I like most of the Daedra, so I have nothing in particular against her. Plus, she did make Dawnbreaker, & it is easily the dopest sword ever.
The Vigilants though, wouldn't traffic with her they hate Daedra. ALL Daedra. Even more so than undead.

"She was responsible for the destruction of the Ayleid city of Abagarlas Her day of summoning is the 13th of Morning Star It is stated that Meridia is one of the few Daedric Princes to be benevolent and not wholly evil, if at all. She granted immortality to her champion, Umaril the Unfeathered the ancient Ayleid enemy of Pelinal Whitestrake Her Aurorans and Umaril returned during the time of the Oblivion Crisis to seek vengeance on the Divines. To the Ayleids, she represented their fourth element, light."
I don't think the Vigilant of Stendar would be in support of something that opposed the Knights of the Nine.

I always take the sword, and tell her to find some other chump to be her champion. I'm a greedy busturd, with little or no use for gods or "superior beings" of any stripe. But I have nothing against her, we agree on how to deal with the undead, and she's kinda cute, in a carved from stone sort of way. If she was available to marry, I'd be all over her. Our kids would rule the universe, and I could find a nice video game to play... hey, wait a minute.

Well, she gave Umaril her minions so they could slaughter priests in the Temples of the Nine Divines across Cyrodiil.

Don't like ANY of the daedra. Wish I could slaughter their followers and defile their shrines.
