Whats the deal with enchanting

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:38 pm

Hi,

Coming from oblivion enchanting seems to have taken an arrow in the knee. Certain enchantments are only available to be placed on certain items. Another thing is having no option to increase the power of the enchantment. In Oblivion we could add power to an enchant, the more powerful the less long the charge would last but the option was there. Now once you have a grand soul, thats as strong as its gonna get without leveling.

So, has any explanation been given to why they did what they did to enchanting? I've been unable to find anything.

To keep you from making godly armor at a low level maybe? I dont have any enchantments on my armor personally, or my weapons.

Part of this is in response to smithing. However they still didn't balance things very well and there is the alchemy-enchanting loop hole that allows for god items.

does it break the game by not allowing you to make EVEN better enchantments than what's available?

:violin:

its just numbers... you still loot dungeons, go on quests, drink mead, kill mobs and put baskets on peoples heads... hush the silly "not enough" complaints... have yet to see one that actually points out something worthwhile and gameplay-changingly significant

the difference between making armour totally elementally resistant or half, does not change what you can experience in the game.. it just means your not god anymore like in old games... what's with the inferiority complex?

 boo to this topic from me, one of millions of unique Skyrimmers.

You need to put perks into smithing and level it up to make better enchntments, it's a skill know.
