Whats with all the tight lip....

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:59 am

Seriously, anybody know why bethesda is being EXTREMELY tight lipped about the future DLC titles? I can understand if they don't wanna give the whole thing away, but I never have seen them be THIS tight lipped about ANY DLC...not a huge deal, just kind of annoying....

Perhaps it's better because people want to hear about fixing the game first, not add and making more bugs with a DLC.

I was under the impression that they (the different DLC packs) were still in the conceptual stages, or pre-production. Besides, when has Bethesda not been tight-lipped about anything? They don't like to release info way ahead of time before everything is set in stone and basically ready to show off and/or play. I get the feeling that the DLC packas aren't going to add in a lot of real estate, as they have specifically stated, but more along the lines of more quests and content in the same place. They haven't really done much of that before, except for the Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3. Generally speaking, they usually make a new set of locales to go along with the storyline of the DLC, so it sounds to me like they are coming up with new quests, storylines, characters, and other content to integrate into the existing gameworld of Skyrim, which can't be easy. So we likely won't hear anything for a while about DLC, especially since they did just come out with the game in November.

If they wait till the game is one hundred percent fixed, the DLc will never be released, and I believe with the 1.4 patch enough will be fixed to at least start some rumors or some basic info. I mean NV was -NEVER- fixed completely, neither was oblivion or FO 3. For example, the dlc for NV had info available quite far ahead of actual release, no big spoilers, but at least some hints....

If it's anything like Oblivion, the DLC's are already on your install disc.

LMAO, that would explain why the game is only 3.8 gigs on the 360 and PS3.....

All the game makers are being tight lipped about their new releases. Think of Battlefield 3 and MW3 and Fifa 12 and other games where gameplay was rarely dropped and if it was it was usually 1-2 minutes. I dont know what the strategy here is but every single company is going to do this

Just like all the companies jumping on board with the season passes....or having disc locked content (gears of war, saints row, and I do believe MW3 as well, and if the rumors are true even Skyrim) Having to pay for somthing that I already purchased is ridiculous.

I'm enjoying the silence....

If they release any DLC info too early, the hype train will start to pick up steam. Then speculations, rumors and unconfirmed accounts of what content the DLC's will contain will fill the forums. Some folks will get all worked up in a frenzy of expectations and begin to believe what they read.

When it's finally released, some will come back here and cry about some nonsensical bull(expletive) that Todd Howard lied and that Bethesda should be included in the "Axis of Evil" list. I say "no thanks".

Bethesda's silence is deafening, and to me its one of the sweetest sounds I know.

Well, the simple solution would be not to lie then....but ya know, in todays world, if it makes sense, it will not be done.
