Where are you now? - Skyrim Edition!

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:33 pm

This is the Skyrim edition of the popular Oblivion thread series "http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1251267-where-are-you-now-5/"

Basically, tell us what your character is doing when you last played Skyrim. Maybe give us a quick introduction to who your character is along with it, and why he/she is doing whatever it is they are doing. Then keep us up to date! :)
Remember, this isn't the Spoilers area! Use spoiler tags if necessary!

----------------------------

I'm currently giving an earnest attempt at playing Dead-is-Dead with a new character, http://i.imgur.com/0QP5u.jpg. My previous problem with this playstyle is that I enjoy roleplaying and getting attached to my characters, so it's always a huge bummer when one of them dies. Therefor, I made up a few stipulations and lore-reasonings to change things up. If Gladriel dies, she "respawns" at the Guardian Stones. Gladriel was cursed by a very powerful Altmer necromancer, who used a very customized variation of the Soul Trap spell to entrap Gladriel the moment she dies, which will send her back in time to a specified moment--that moment being when he left her at the Guardian Stones. When Gladriel wakes up from her near-death-experience, she remembers only the last minute before her death, and this memory is forgotten after a day or two. Gladriel finds herself at the Guardian Stones with only light fur armor on--no shoes, gloves, amulets, rings--an iron axe, and the few basic spells she's always known. During her near-death-slumber, her mind is filled with nightmares. Gladriel's goal is to remove this curse by finding this powerful necromancer, and by becoming powerful enough herself to defeat him, in hopes of recovering the memories of her past, who the Necromancer is, and why this has happened to her. (Get to level 30 without dying on Master difficulty, then once the CK comes out, I'll mod the Altmer necromancer in somewhere and have a final battle.)

Recently, Gladriel entered Skybound Watch Pass, where she fought off some Draugr and skeletons. However, after a dangerous fire trap, she ran into a Master Vampire. Knowing her limits, she quickly retreated out of the ruins and to Falkreath, where she is currently staying the night.

I'm playing a lvl 21 dunmer sneaky character named Molag Lor. He went for Skyrim searching for the Thieves Guild there because he heard they were accepting new members. After being accepted as a member he
Spoiler
helped to lift the curse that was afflicting the guild and is now working towards restoring its former glory.

During one of his guild jobs he accidentally discovered the identity of a serial killer in the city of Windhelm and is now working on getting this guy arrested. Not because he cares for all those human women being killed but because some people were starting to blame his fellow dunmers for the killing.

And now, just a few moments later, Gladriel stepped into Shriekwind Bastion. She turned into a room filled with blood and human remains, only to be attacked by a vampire woman from behind, blocking any chance of escape. As Gladriel fumbled between healing herself and casting fire at the beast, she was slashed across the chest by the vampire. Moments later, she awoke from crazed nightmares beside the Guardian Stones, with only a fleeting memory of a vampire woman and a blood-filled room.
Damn!

It's always nice to see creative motivations to complete quests. ;)

My lvl 37 Nord, Wilhelm, is currently south of Winterhold exploring an icy cave inhabited by Falmer and Charuses. He is searching for the Nord ruin a merchant of Winterhold directed him to, where he can use the Coral claw she gave him, but he can't seem to remember which one it is. (ok, so I can't remember and it's not on my map or in my quest log). After defeating Alduin and slaying General Tullius, he's become quite aimless.

I'm a big Jagar Tharn fan, and he is suitable for any holiday in the correct attire.

The Staff of Chaos is, however, not socially acceptable at Christmas parties.

I have so many save files right now, it is hard to think of exactly,"Where am I?"

I guess I will share my 'main' file with y'all.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am playing an Altmer named Thadon Dray. He came to Skyrim as an agent for the Aldmeri Dominion but was accidentally caught in an Imperial ambush.
When he arrived at Helgen, despite the attempts of the Aldmeri ambassador, Thadon was still sentenced to the block. Miraculously, he escaped during the dragon attack.

Once he was free, he headed towards Markarth to make contact with an Aldmeri official named Ondolemar. They made contact and was able to report in on what had taken place at Helgen.
Once contact had been made, Thadon was given the task of 'blending' into Skyrim. As a High Elf, he definitely draws suspicion. He was to find an occupation and remain dormant. His particular skills led him to the College of Winterhold where he joined and began to raise through the ranks. It was also there he met his future wife Brelyna.

Thadon excelled at his new profession, eventually replacing the Arch-Mage and establishing his power in Winterhold. Then a very odd turn of events unfolded. After visiting Markarth, Thadon left a devout Molag Bal worshiper. Heeding his Daedric master's call, he attacked a village, killing all within it. No survivors. A week later Thadon was attacked in the College, a group of assassin's arrived and attempted to kill Thadon. In the skirmish, Brelyna was killed, by a misplaced lightning bolt from Thadon's hands.
Driven by his own inner demons, Thadon did what he could to repent in the name of his lost love. Worship to the nine, tributes made for forgiveness, Thadon made a pact to never worship a Daedra again after that event. However, just like an addictive narcotic, Thadon would return to his old ways.

Thadon joined the Imperial Legion under orders from his Aldmeri superiors and began to wage war against the Storm cloaks. Thadon fought in many battles, winning many battles due to his prowess in the Arcane studies. After the fall of Windhelm to the Imperials, Thadon left the Legion and was once again lured into the rapture of the Daedra. He began a personal quest to find the Daedra and learn more about them all. Forsaking his Aldmeri orders, Thadon performed dark rites and deeds, to learn whom would be his new master.
He found it in the Father of Man-beasts, Hircine. Believing himself nothing better than an animal, this suited Thadon... for the time being. After making many sacrifices to the Huntsman, Thadon relished becoming one with his new master. He desired to become a literal beast.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apologies for the gigantic background. If you read it all, you are champion.

Anyways, so that is where I am at. Level 18, currently in the companions. My new aim for Thadon is for him to embrace his Dragon-borne aspect and to go forth and learn all the shouts and fight the dragons.
Should be fun.

I'm currently roleplaying a true son of Skyrim by the name Yandov Two-Hands(level 9). At the moment he is in Windhelm fixing to take a trip to the Reach to do some liberation under the name of Ulfric Stormcloak.

This is the roleplay for my character: a Stormcloak Soldier who then retires after the war and goes on a hiatus, but the then feels something deep inside calling him back to the life he once knew. He knows he is no longer needed as a soldier so he becomes a sellsword for anyone who has the coin.

This my first real roleplay character and i'm enjoying it alot.

Leofrick the Unforgiving sniffed the air, and as he did so he felt a shiver run up his spine. The two wovles growled maliciously as he unsheathed his long skyforge harbinger of death and unshouldered his shield, once held by the arm of Ysgramor himself. The air was thick with dusk mist as the wolves padded closer, already smelling a fresh meal.

The first one leapt forward, snarling his deathsong, and it was a deathsong, as Leofrick was ready and the first wolf fell onto his shield, was wrenched off, then decapitated.

The second was older, more experienced, he had a scar running from his pointed black ears to his snout. He waited until Leofrick was dealing with the younger cur, then leapt, slashing his claws, onto Leofrick's back. Leofrick smashed backwards with his sword and the wolve's head crunched loudly. He slid off and lay on the ground, mewling pathetically. Leofrick kissed his blood soaked blade, Dovahfeyn, raised it above his head and brought it down once. The wolf howled for a split second, then slumped.

It was on the road to Markarth the next day that he saw the telltale haughty cloaks of the Thalmor usurpers......

Please tell me if you guys liked this, I may continue the story of Leofrick the Unforgiving if you guys want it. By the way, yes, the swords name is dragon language...
