Where to find some action?

Post » Wed May 11, 2011 1:02 am

I get that Fallout is a RPG and not an FPS. I don't mind, im the type of gamer that will spend hours walking around town, setting up my home or role playing. However sometimes i feel my trigger finger itching to use my new weapon or just to get a little xp. So where can I find some good action areas or dungeons if you will. I have already done the Fiends quests, cleared out the prison, and walked up and down the major roads looking for something other than the op deathclaws to attack me. The areas like the prison arent enjoyable for me because it ends up being the gun equivalent of a hack and slash affair. Im looking for areas that are like the DC buildings in FO3.

The areas in the south east and on the other side of the river are great for variations on the different NV creatures.
All round NV's sides are full of fiends is close to what you discribe imo, but also just north of goodsprings Cazador ally is an area.

Other than that PO the legion, NCR, Kings or any faction and you'll see some different styles of fights.

Outside of Jacobstown there is a valley leading to Red Rock Canyon, lots of cazadors there.
Deathclaw Quarry.
That Wind Cavern.
North-east part of the map.
Black Mountain.
Done...
There really aren't a lot of places where enemies are a threat.

For general action (eg not deathclaw/caza's) kinda hard to find something too difficult, once you're past a certain clvl or gear point...imo. A lot of the tougher stuff that may represent a larger challenge doesn't respawn, and many places are quest-related so you'll end up going there eventually anyway.

The cavern with the Legendary Cazador can be fairly tough.
Vault 34 can be a challenge at lower to mid clvls, and even if not, I find it to be the most fun of the Vaults.

Other than that....get off the main road. Find the cave entrances and whatever else you can stumble upon. There isn't going to be tons of stuff right off the main roads (the 2 areas very close to Goodsprings excepted).

If you want to blast some bad guys the fiends outside Vault 3 respawn every few days.

Yes, Sensei.

Also you could try to hunt CL at Fort Nelson.
