Where the hell are the *Latest* UPDATES!?!?!?

Post » Fri Jul 08, 2011 7:37 pm

I've been searching for hours now and I still can't find anything, no installers, etc, nothing! I have a retail copy of F:NV (not the Steam version), and I seemingly can't find the manual updater for my frickin' game, I've even checked the Bethesda site myself, sure, they have F3 Updates/Patches for PC, but NOT F:New Vegas?! What the hell is this, either Bethesda is some corporate-bloated corruption from hell that only cares about their money and not customer satisfaction or maybe I'm just not looking at the right pages, but I swear I've checked just about all pages, even went through several Google pages looking for it, mostly all I've found was malware and warez...

If anybody can't help me that'd be great. I'd really appreciate official support too if possible. Thanks. Bethesda. :swear: :ahhh:

The retail DVD version of FNV still requires Steam (for the 1 time validation during install). It's also where you get the patches.

DLC I think you can get from some of the other download stores but patches...connect to Steam & download.

1. Behtesda didnt do NV, Obsidian did.

2. All retail DVD versions come as Steam so it should of downloaded already unless you have auto updates turned off.

This is true from the developer stand point, but Beth is responsible, far as I know, for the getting out of the patches etc. Obs hands it over, Beth deals with it.

All patches for New Vegas are obtained through Steam, even for the retail version. If you haven't connected to Steam in the past day or so, you need to do that. It should automatically download the patch.

My update automatically downloaded last night, and I have the retail version.

I'm still kind of confused though, is there a manual way to get it?

I really don't appreciate that bloatware (even if I may be mislead) I still don't like.
Is there some other way to update my game other than download it from steam or something?
Other than that, is there possibly a registry edit I can do to 'fool' the game into thinking it's running the latest version?
Anything?? :dead:

No, downloading via Steam is the only way.

Well, if you know of a version of NVSE that works with F:NV version 1.0.0.240 please let me know then. :P :obliviongate: :brokencomputer:

You should really update to the latest version of NV - there's been a ton of bug fixes since 1.0.0.240, and the game runs a LOT better. The process is actually quite painless - just connect to Steam, let it download the patch and then go offline again. Save a copy of your current version of FalloutNV.exe in another folder so you can roll back if you don't like the latest version.

ianpatt has already cranked out a NVSE version that works with the latest patch.
