where the hell is the script editor

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 8:29 pm

Hi guys and gals.

Either I don't understand the Creation Kit or there is something very wrong with it.

I am trying to edit a script and I can't. When I double click on that particular script I have an error message...saying that windows don't find it...

Someone help please

Any help is welcome

Get Notepad++, then click on a script again, the error will come back but then you can browse for the program to be associated with scripts, here you chose Notepad++

Why couldn't they have incorporated it into the CK in the first place?

My creation kit has a built in script editor.. either that or it just uses a special version of the regular windows notepad or something... I installed the CK and could just right click a script and go to edit source with no problems.

Right click on the script, and click edit source
It wont display this option with scripts that are pulled from the Gameplay > Papyrus Script Manager.

Oh I see. In that case, you can right click on it> Use Info> then find the script there then right click and edit source. However, notepad++ is probably a better editor.

I just realized that if the script isn't being used, my method won't work.

Yeah, Edit Source which is the CK's Script editor will only appear on scripts being used.

From there though, like for example a magic effect using a script, you simply right click it and Edit Source/ Edit Properties and other things will be available.
