Where is the Quest Journal?

Does anyone else miss the quest journal from previous games?

It was useful because it kept a log of all of the activity you had completed. This was especially useful if you were halfway through a quest, didn't continue it for a long time, and needed a reminder of what the quest was about and what you needed to do next.

What is really annoying about the Skyrim system is that miscellaneous quests have absolutely no context behind them in our current quests menu. "Fetch iron sword" is not a particularly helpful quest log. The previous system of a quest journal would have information needed to remind us of our objectives.

Does anyone else want this feature to return? Discuss! :starwars:

Yes, this is my main complaint with the game, you are basically forced to take very few quests if you don't use the compass because the misc quest don't have good enough entries to follow them. I guess it's not a big deal to some but I freakin' hate the compass, and this basically forces me to use it for some things.

I agree. This playthrough I have tried to keep my questlog as clean as possible to avoid these random quests that have no backing info, so Ive tried to do each quest as soon as i get it. A journal would be really helpful to put quests in context.

Leaving aside the necessity of quest arrows for many of them, I agree the saddest part of this fancy new-gen game is that there's no why for so many of the misc quests. The lack of any detail means I have no idea why I should talk to some guy in some castle, who told me to do that, what I might expect, etc etc etc

Truly shows just how shallow the game is. "Just do it ... nothing else matters"

Lol you're right. It's strange having 100 random quests in my log and having no context behind any of them. Bethesda did a poor job with quest logs in Skyrim, as well as the huge amount of filler quests themselves.
