Where was Ysgramor ?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 4:10 pm

Ysgramor was the first man to set foot on Tamriel so, he is older than talos. Where was he before he went to Sovgarde.

Atmora a cold wasteland from what I can tell I believe we'll see a DLC involved with sometime soon maybe a Tribunal style one.

No, no, no. He and his two sons were the only survivors of the Night of Tears. They returned to Atmora and gathered the 500 companions.

They returned and drove the elves from Skyrim, after which, he never left. Ulfric's palace in Windhelm was at one time, Ysgrammor's palace.

I imagine he probably lived for a good while

but, as with all the Nord heroes, when he finally slipped away and went to Sovngarde he maintained his most physically fit and youthful form.

He wasn't the first man on Tamriel, the Nedic people were there before the ancient nords. He returned to Skyrim after gathering his 500 Companions to take revenge for the Nigh of Tears.

As for where he was he settled in Skyrim, but would probably visit other provinces(and by that I mean attack them to expand his kingdom) during his lifetime.

As far as we know, all the recent expeditions to Atmora revealed it to be a barren and frozen land. It has always been a cold place but what prompted Nords to move into the current Tamriel was the beginning of an ice age in their native country.

Who said it was?

Shor created Sovngarde, at which time doesn't matter, it's a plain of Aetherius.

Where was he in death? That question has been answered. He went to Sovngarde.

Spoiler
If you mean "Where did he die?" the simple answer to that is in Skyrim. His tomb lies on the edge of Skyrim in the Sea of Ghosts, somewhat south of Atmora.

No, Talos had nothing to do with it. Aetherius is where most souls go after death, and Sovngarde is just one of its planes. In Sovngarde, a Reexamination you can find this:
"According to the ancient writings and oral traditions of the Nords, going back as far as the Late Merethic Era, there exists a place so magnificent, so honored, that the entrance lies hidden from view. Sovngarde, it is called, built by the god Shor to honor those Nords who have proven their mettle in war."

It seems Sovngarde has been around for a while.

Talos =/= Jesus

Please don't go there. This is a decent discussion and doesn't need to be locked by the Mods because it took a wrong turn in to real world religion.

I will admit, there are many parallels in the game, but no, no, no.

Tsk, tsk.

He came from Atmora and settled in Skyrim with the rest of the Nords.

I assume he spent the rest of his days there, building [censored]
