Where do you think they will start?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 12:11 pm

As we have all noticed, there are locations within the Mojave Wasteland that seem to be entrances/exits of some sort that are inaccessible. For example, there is a named passage in the north of the map that clearly leads somewhere, but doesn't. There are also train tunnels exactly like the one that led to the Pitt that you can't enter. Try matching them to a DLC.

I think the Lonesome road will clear up when you get the DLC

I say Northern Passage or Irradiated Roadblock for Honest Hearts. I believe OWB will take place in the current map, west of Goodsprings, in the white area that is "empty." It was stated that OWB will be the easiest to access, so that is why I think it will be on the vanilla map. Lonesome Road will probably be entered through Mojave Outpost, even though the Canyon Wreckage has Lonesome Road clues, I think it will still be through Mojave Outpost.

If you notice, there are 4 DLC, and they each seem to be linked to one end of the map.

North = Northern Passage = Honest Hearts
East = Abandoned BoS Bunker = Dead Money
South = Mojave Drive-in = Old World Blues
West = Canyon Wreckage = Lonesome Road

That seems to be intention.

Honest Hearts entrance is the Northern Passage, and Lonesome Road is Canyon Wreckage. I know CW is Lonesome Road, because it says it on the wreckage. OWB might us that pond up north with the cars and semi that blocks off the highway. They were obviously planning the dlc before the game came out, lets hope there are more than 4 dlc though.

I'm hoping there are more than 4 dlc as well. hell even a quest item hunt dlc would be interesting. There are a possibility of around 7 dlc total if I am correct with my areas (which I'm probably not making it so that there is only 5 possible dlc).

northern passage - honest hearts
canyon wreckage - Lonesome Road (or possibly is the same as Irradiated Roadblock
Mojave Drive-In (by the coyote mother) - OWB
Mojave Outpost - ??? (possibly Lonesome Road
Abandoned BoS Bunker - Dead Money
Irradiated Roadblock (possibly just a further block off for honest hearts)
Nuclear Test Site (all the way South with the ghouls) - we can see a number of other unreachable buildings and it is a fence so possibly an entrance for dlc ???

other unlikely but possible locations: something underwater. the rebreather is not nearly as useful as it could be. the floating city for example that people see over one of the bodies of water might be a potential dlc place? or just a reference to some floating castle in the sky.

death valley: if not already listed above this could be a possibility

I think the likelihood of one final dlc content is quite possible specifically since we have the Mojave Outpost or the Canyon Wreckage that has yet to be unlocked or anything of the type. the others I admit might just be wishful thinking.

Well there is also the blocked road in the north-western portion of the map.

Another thing I noticed recently was the skyway that goes off to the north near the entrance to Nellis. VERY clearly visible on the map and you can also see other parts of it from inside nellis (on some of the watchtowers)

There is also a strangely coloured wall inside the ant mound.. To the right of the first little room area, follow it around to the dead-end and the wall is obviously different to the normal walls..
Also the broken bridge over the canyon filled with gecko's and rail carts looks a little odd..

I've been level 35 for a very long time just wandering around looking at things.. Its surprising how much you can make yourself believe when you spend enough time doing it.

Makes sense to me. It also hints to the idea that the "Divide" is west of the Mojave and not to the east, as some have speculated. The map edge may be a geographical hint of the direction you are traveling. It works for Honest Hearts, but that theory also depends on where you think the Sierra Madre Casino was at.

Abandoned BoS Bunker - Dead Money

This except for Lonesome road. I honestly don't see why they would put the entrance to a DLC in faction territory. It's not like it's in the middle of camp Mcarran, i know, but still.

Besides, doesn't south of the outpost lead back into NCR territory?

Canyon Wreckage, SAYS LONESOME ROAD ON IT.

Also there is a tunnel next to the Crescent Canyon, it has a lottery ticket in front of the door so obviously someone was there. This could be a dlc location.

I still say Canyon Wreckage for LW. I don't know (if any of us know) what LW is about, but if it's not that, I'd say OWB. The other side says "It's time to go home, "Courier Six." I figure "Old World" in that could possibly be for wherever the Courier was from. Y'know, his "Old World" and all that. Much more likely though, it's just referring to the "Old World", as in before the war. :P

It would seem weird to start Honest Hearts from the Mojave Outpost. It's at the opposite corner of the map to the Utah area. I think Honest Hearts must start at the Northern Passage. It's the closest general point to a road to Zion. I-15 heads right to Zion National Park, and since we can't take that, I think the logical choice is the Northern Passage.

Mojave outpost and CC are out of the question, they're both dead.

The road in the NW corner of the map is most likely the road you will take.

Their is the tumbleweed ranch that can be changed into a caravan company in a jiffy.

The answers people are coming up with seem not to have any thought behind them. Why would Honest Hearts start at Mojave Outpost when that goes a different way? The Northern Passage is the ONLY possible place, there is a boarded up building in front of it. Lonesome Road can ONLY take place in one location, THE ONE THAT SAYS LONESOME ROAD ON IT. Canyon Wreckage is the only place you can see marking about it, it has a bunch of graffiti on it that talk about courier #6 who you play as. Old World Blues is the only one that the location isn't BLATANTLY obvious. Utah is north of Vegas, the Northern Passage goes where? Canyon Wreckage has marking talking about the Divide, AND Lonesome Road.

The road near Nellis heads NORTH, as does the road to the northwest of the map, near the entrace to the long path to Jacobstown..

In the video it looks like the Mojave Drive-In (south of Nipton) has that big eye on the screen. There's a rail spur leading to a train tunnel (visible to the south from the drive-in). There's a similar tunnel nearby, south of Camp Charlie, which may be linked.

The WIKI comes right out and says this is the access point, but you know the WIKI.

I agree -- Northern Passage for HH (tomorrow!), Nipton train tunnel for OWB & Canyon Wreckage for LR.
BoS bunker seems like an odd choice, now.
