It depends, I'm level 33 and I can one shot a frost troll while I'm in werewolf form. But I've heard from others that at high levels it becomes useless. But even if the damage output becomes weak, the werewolf form is still very useful for fast running. Faster than any horse.

It's great but I ended up curing myself in the end. In normal form, it is identical to playing normally except with 100% disease resistance. The werewolf form is great, but you can't loot with it, which is a big turn-off for me. But go ahead and try it, you'll be able to cure yourself if you don't end up liking it.

Werewolf is generally useless in my opinion.

It does make for some bad-ass fights with the wildlife in Skyrim, but I don't use it very often.

Hell, a lot of the time I decide to use it at the absolute worst times and get myself smeared because I can't heal.

Rather be a vamp instead, as said the werewolf speed is the only benefit of being one.

But try it yourself.

I love being a Werewolf, I used it the whole companions questline and very frequently afterwards too, with the healing, I just feed from the corpses after I kill the enemies (which I mostly one-shorted) and at the end of the dungeon I just go back through and loot everything

Werewolves are good for crowd control if you know you'll be walking into a mod, such as at bandit or forsworn forts. Your shouts are turned into howls which will cause most enemies to flee from you, allowing you to pick off enemies individually feed to restore health and keep the blood-lust going, and repeat. I'm not sure if it's supposed to happen, but I noticed the other day that trolls refused to attack me in werewolf form. Has anyone else experienced this?

Being a werewolf is fun. I really like the skull-crusher finisher they have. If you're on PC, there are mods to make beast form more useful at higher levels.

I noticed that wolves don't attack you in beast form. Haven't really looked to see what other creatures and wildlife become passive.

I know that wolves aren't supposed to attack werewolves, but I don't remember seeing any other creatures being mentioned on UESP.

Also, if you take orc as race, you can put up the beserker ability up first before turning. You'll see how 'viable' that is xD
