Playing it on Normal with hardcoe. If the game starts getting too easy I'll move the difficulty up gradually.

Playing on normal (not hardcoe 1st playthrough) Making this character a goody two shoes. My 2nd will be hardcoe for sure though, High strength, melee and sneak. And evil. Oh so evil.

Normal hardcoe seems to fit perfectly in comparison to realism.

I'm going through on Hard mode with hardcoe on. I want a good amount of challenge, but I do not want to be facing bullet sponges.

This. I am playing hardcoe Normal. I'll never play Very Hard hardcoe, because making enemies take more damage to die is a stupid way of increasing difficulty. If you wanted a realistic "wasteland survivor" mode, you make enemies go down with a single shot to the head and a couple to a limb or the chest. Then reverse that and apply it to the player as well. Binjo. Realism mode.

Looks like I am one of the sheep playing hardcoe normal. Except the fact I need to go to work in about half an hour at 12pm and don't finish til 3 am which both blows and svcks. Least it's about $25 an hour.

You're ruining the fun of ever playing on hardcoe mode. What would be the point of switching to hardcoe if you already know where to get all of your supplies and water and such? If you plan on getting the full value out of hardcoe mode it's best to use it now, when it still feels like an unknown hostile wasteland. I can bet if you don't use hardcoe now you never will. Survival doesn't have a reset button.

It would be impossible to play a game that was that realistic. You wouldn't have enough control of your character's perceptions and movement to be able to remain unshot.

I'm playing through on Normal and have died atleast 30 times. This game is much harder than FO3 and enemies tend to gang up on you more it seems. I'm now dreading knowing what hardcoe is like. Imagine getting your head crippled in the desert and not being able to find a doctor, have no doctor bags, or fast travel there because you will die of hunger. Man, that'll be hard.

That's what makes hardcoe so much damn fun. :vaultboy:

But I still don't see how you've died 30 times on just normal mode. I'm on Very Hard, hardcoe and I've only died twice.

Normal, no hardcoe.

Just like I played every one of my characters in FO3 (normal, no FWE / etc).

Don't really feel the need for any of those other things. Normal's hard enough for me (weak things are weak, tough stuff like Sentry Bots & groups with missile launchers/etc are tough), and the food & water thing's just added annoyance.

The rate of stats decay in HC mode is slow enough that you can go on a quest or looting run and not have to worry about food/drink/rest until your inventory is filled an you have to go back to town to sell/stash your loot.

You just have to eat/drink/sleep before you move on...

Going to play on Hard difficulty with hardcoe enabled. :tops:

I want strong enemies who will put up more of a challange & as a realistic role playing experience as possible, while still enjoying the game.

hardcoe/ Hard

I feel that failure is a better teacher then success. I plan to get my @$$ handed to me often, but hey....its post-apocalyptic wasteland full of creatures/people who want to make me take a dirt nap....its suppost to be grueling....

just my op...everyone should play this as they see fit.....

I'd just like to let you guys know, I've moved down from Very Hard, hardcoe to Normal, hardcoe. It's not that it's to hard, it's just that everyone is too much of a bullet sponge. Since Obsidian Screwed over VATS and made it useless I can't get anymore long-range sniping shots like I could in FO3. That means I have to get up close and pump ammo into my targets. I say screw that. Normal, hardcoe is just as hard as Very Hard, it just uses a much more reasonable amount of ammo. I might move up to hard, who knows. All I can say is that I'm done with Very Hard unless they fix VATS to be accurate like in FO3. VATS is supposed to be an assisted targeting system. That idea fits well in an RPG; however, in New Vegas all it does it waste ammo.
