I can't start the Whispering Door Daedric quest because Hulda from the Bannered Mare in Whiterun is dead. No one else will give me the clue to start this quest. It would seem to be a simple fix, just have the new owner of the Bannered Mare, Ysolda, give me the clue.
Is this new patch going to fix this? If not, why?

She is dead... ie the questgiver is dead.. (for most sidequests NPC's are not flagged as essential)
This is not a bug... it is a design choice.. , however in this case one should be able to get the info from the Jarl as well (ie The start is simply badly written).

No, it is a bug because there's no other way to get the quest. That makes this a bug, not a design choice. There's an achievement tied in to this (the Deadric items one). Not being able to get the quest from anyone else in town makes this a bug...ie something that is wrong with the game.

Does anyone else remember the talk of Radiant Storytelling that was supposed to ensure stuff like this didn't happen?
