Sometimes while trying to click on and move an object instead of moving something I get a white + and moving the mouse draws a white box on the screen. If I keep clicking on the object sometimes a popup screen opens. What's going on? It sometimes gets frustrating trying to get something to move.

It sounds like the white box is the hilight box for selecting multiple objects.

As for the pop-up you may be clicking fast enough to make the CK think you are double-clicking...
