When i go to whiterun all the dorrs to the vendors and what not are locked preventing me to trade sell my items. I have tried to go to Riverside i believe and the same thing happens. I need to see crap but i cant find out where.... any help would be great. thanks!

Is it between 8pm and 8 am?

Are you going to them in the middle of the night?

you must accept the main quest from riverwood to gain entrance.

Or you can be like me and use the console to unlock them because I don't want the main quest activated due to the annoying dragons.

its possible because i havent seen dragons yet and im on level 8. ill check back with riverwood for the quest.

Yeah. Every time I fast travell I'm like "here giant flying lizard ... here boy". These days I get my wish about 30% of the time.

You can even deliver the dragonstone without activating the dragons. As long as you stay clear of the place you're supposed to go to, they won't ever spawn. Guessing you have to defeat that first dragon before the event triggers.

well i completed the MQ and still everything is locked. sigh.....

bump any ideas as to why everything is locked and i cannot sell my stuff?? i keep having to throw it down to make more room.

Like others said, it's eighter night and the shops are closed, or the shopkeepers have been killed.

i havent killed anyone. ill post a screen shot of the map to show you all.

I have noticed that this is a glitch (for me anyways). Sometimes between normal operation hours of 8 AM to 8 PM certain doors in Whiterun will remain locked. Usually simply walking away and coming back, or waiting an hour will correct this.

Sometimes I have to reload if vendors' doors are locked when they should be open. This happens a lot with Falion in Morthal, who seems to keep odd hours anyway, but also can happen with others. Occasionally on the Dunmer guy in Windhelm. Anyway, quicksave and reload seems to work for me. That is- to be clear- I don't need to go back to an earlier save, just save at the vendor's door and reload the save which I guess resets the cell or something.

Please tell me that you arent just going off the map and actually checked the actual door first?

try waiting till 10am. I find that pretty much all the stores are open by then.
