WHO DO WE BLAME? BETHESDA OR SPLASH DAMAGE

OK LETS DEAL WITH A REAL ISSUE!!

The games release date was pushed up! Should it have been delayed again or did Bethesda feel Splash was being perfectionist or Splash Damages resources was limited..maybe too limited. Who helped make this mess. OR better yet who is the cause of this mess.

I am at the point where I feel like the game was put out too early. Now its a mess to clean up. A great new IP that had a rocky start and no matter if you agree or not the numbers agree, the game is losing some momentum. At least on the XBOX 360.

Is Bethesda forcing the release date to be pushed up because they wanted good quarterly numbers or some political move to have a certain amount of games to be put out. Or was Splash Damage to ambitious and did not have the resources to put the polish on a game that needed it. Didn't even have the stat site up by release. Better believe COD Elite will be ready buy time COD MW3 comes out. The released was fumbled and who is the one to blame. The publishers or the developers?

Splash Damage. They decided that they had finished the game, and didn't want to wait any longer to release it.

Or was it Bethesda saying its time to put up or shut up? Splash would then have to release some PR bull about they are ready to go. But behind closed doors did Bethesda say you guys had long enough. Put the game out!!!

Well, we will never know if Bethesda as the publisher said "times up, we aren't paying you anymore, where's our game?" or if Splash Damage pulled a fast one on Bethesda and lied about the game being done, unless they come out and tell us what happened behind the scenes; which won't happen. I honestly believe that Splash Damage, with all the time and money they needed, could have delivered exactly what they promised us.

So in my opinion they are both to blame. I think SD got a little swept up in their own hype and weren't necessarily able to keep things realistic and within the scope of their production capabilities under the deadlines and restrictions imposed by Bethesda. This kind of thing happens a lot in the media industry where there is a tug of war between what you want to create and what you can create with the time and resources available to you. I also think the folks at SD really poured their heart and soul into Brink and had the best intentions. Unfortunately when it comes down to it at the end of the day it's the $ that makes the final decision and that's thanks to the world we live in.

I dont really see this thread as constructive. It's a new, stand alone game, not a multi-version major release, to expect it to compete with the likes of COD in terms of player base is ridiculous no matter what the outcome of this thread. Although it was a disappointing release the core game itself is not at all bad and I applaud the work done on this game to make it different enough from the mainstream gaming to be worthy of my £40. It is in desperate need of some content, mind. The game ships with far too few maps to be a full-on multiplayer game with a lacking SP.

We'll never know because neither SD or Beth will admit to anything.

Very True. But we also can have a say. We can have an opinion and it looks like a lot of people are in this forum is a little upset that the money they spent was wasted. Better yet. The hopes they had for this game was crushed. I got a lot of my friends to get on this game by release date and I am totally responsible for that. I got Splash Damage at least 300 dollars in game sales in the first week and it is a pity that we the consumer is having to deal with a botched release from smaller studio's. I guess my issue is really on a bigger scale then just this game. I love the small studio's and what they try to do and at times we do get great games. But we do get alot of good game with major problems....for every Bioshock their is 6 Prototype's.....for every Boarderlands their is 7 Homefronts. And to be honest you are speaking truth in everything you say but I need to point the finger of blame at somebody as much as everyone else. This gives us our chance to be heard.

Whats the problem??? What are you talking about??
I dont see how this game can be compared to the likes of COD or BF3 or any of those FPS games, as BRINK is of totally different callibre.

BRINK ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Splash Damage said themselves that they finished working on the game early and decided to release it. Which is why it has so many [censored] issues. They had an extra year to fix things, but decided to release it because they thought it was "finished". What a joke.

And the issue is yourself? :) Because the game didn't fit your expectations? Okay, that happens a lot. Don't ask me about Call of Duty Modern Warfare series. I really drill those games into the ground. But not everyone on public has to know the reasons and everything. Please give us more feedback instead or blaming others. This is useless.

I blame you for making stupid threads!

I agree, quit wining. If you do not like it, you could tell it us in a more appropriate way. This is not the way to reach people.

I really DO HOPE you know that BRINK was supposed to be released NOVEMBER 2010? And that it got moved to May 17th or w/e, then moved to the 14th (wow, 3 days made a difference to you people?)

So, they got a bump OF A HALF A YEAR from what they originally slated for? And you're complaining because they got half a year more extra work done on the game (which OBVIOUSLY wasn't long enough...)

Think about that before posting like an idiot please. The game DID already get extra time, just not enough. And they only bumped it earlier FROM 3 DAYS people, THREE. I don't think 3 days > 6 months?

Seriously...
