Who enjoyed Unfathomable Depth Quest?

I really enjoyed it as I followed the past and saw what happened, is there anymore quests like this in the game?

And your reward "The Ancient Knowledge" will fortify your skill in smithing.

It was interesting, but I was pretty disappointed we could not get any more information from the quest giver once we finished it, and she simply acts as though nothing ever happened.

I really liked this one. And the gift of Ancient Knowledge is pretty nice (well, at least the smithing bonus - I never use Dwarven armor or any heavy armor really).

Apparently, just wearing dwarven armour and gauntlets enchanted with fortify smithing will add more points in improving any kind of armors or weapons. That's the Ancient Knowledge gift.

that quest actually introduced me to the first dwemer ruins and their background story.
it was pretty interesting and made me want to solve the mystery of the disappearing dwarves.

Ancient Knowledge is bugged. It actually increases your Armor by 20% no matter what type of armor you're wearing, and gives you a constant 15% Fortify Smithing rather than making Smithing gain faster.

Well, hmm. I don't like that it's a bug. I think I'll use the console to remove it.

Do you know if it affects mage armor? I only wear robes and use dual cast Ebonyflesh.

That. I was expecting at least a brief discussion with the argonian who gives you the cube / quest, but you literally don't even get a single line acknowledging you've even finished it.

But other than that, I really liked that quest a lot. Seeing the shades of the past was really neat.

It is one of the bugs they are going to consider "features" - might as well enjoy it since it "is" the reward and "will be" the reward.
Nice prize of a reward instead of one only effecting a niche armor.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it. I just - don't feel right about it.

I liked encountering the ghosts here and there.... that place was too quiet/creepy without falmer, if that makes any sense.

But I agree I was disappointed there was no coda about her regret, or now she can try to move on sadder but wiser, etc. etc. etc.

Yeah, that's a really cool quest. And, yes, there are other quests like that where you kinda' follow the people who were there before you. Saarthal one that stilts mentioned and I think I've come across at least two others that you follow the ghosts/previous 'raiders'. :P

No. No, that doesn't make any sense. Too creepy without Falmer? Are you one of those weirdo Goth people? :o

No! lol, but lately I've been feeling sorry for the falmer... I'd be mad as hell too if I were them! I even find myself rooting for them, when I see one fighting a centurion in the distance

But yes, not my mostest fave dungeon (no coda), but a good quick fairly straightforward one, where I didn't get LOST for a change, nonetheless.

Yeh i loved the quest.

I feel totally the same my character used to cull them as fast as i could draw my bow when i waded through ruins but upon doing the thieves guild quest and deciphering Gallus's journal i read the book about the Falmer from the translator and....i....felt for them both personally and my character so now he will spare as many as possible and only defend himself if forced to (i.e. i cant stealth away)

if the dwemmer ever come back this Argonaian vampire will hunt each and every slave, power driven abnoctious Dwemmer back into oblivion, infact i will soul-trap every single one of them and drop them down into a deep, dirty hole.

and as a roleplay thing aswell i returned the eyes of the falmer back to the statue and callapsed the exit on my way out. and will leave anyone in the thieves guild who talks about stealing or wanting them lying in a pool of there own blood with a black and white stone in there ey sockets, just like the Night Mothers calling card.

Yeah, I feel badly for them, but I have to defend myself. The first time I ever came into contact with them I did what I always do when I see a new species: I put my weapons away and walk up to them. Everyone knows the rest.

FWIW I know what you mean by creepy without them - when you don't see anything around you it makes you nervous that 'it' will come from anywhere at any moment and the longer you don't see anything the worse the paranoia gets. :P Of course the constant creakiing in the Dwemer ruins from the eventual, total collapse doesn't help. :o

I get what ya mean, why I suggested DLC where they were restored with help of some divine influence and went to war against the Nords, it's tragic what happened to them, thrown off their land then tortured and force fed glowing mushrooms O_O. That despicable, to hell with Nords and Dwemer.

My favorite part was the section of wall that was missing near the end of the ruin. Had a blue backround, could see the centurion and the glow of the other characters through it. Saved game and jumped in. Just fell and fell and fell, then was teleported to the beginning of that area.
