Who plays as a Collector?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 8:16 pm

My character's main goal is to get one of every armor and weapon type and display them on maniquins in his vault. Also go get 50 of each ingredient. One of each book. Every unique or rare item. One each of every standard magical items. All varieties of clothes. When the C.S becomes available I'll add a preserve with tame versions of each creature wandering about. I'm considering having to use spells to get the creature to follow me to it after finding one in the wild. I'll need to max out illusion for that probably. Don't know what I'll do about insects and fish though.

I collect the books, Daedric artifacts, any unique keys, and dragon bones from every dragon I've slain.

A collection like the one the OP describes seems like it would be hard to keep track of. Do you have a list from which you mark off all of the items you've collected?

Aww I collect. every thing from Bugs in jars to the jazbay graqes, but luckly i have the CE book with the game that has a check list in it, for all items, armor, clothes, weapens etc and my collection
is really growing it would blow your mind.
But I would have to let you know there is no way to get all items unless you have more then one character. Have Fun Tho!

What kind of places? Do you mean you wish there were more homes to buy and/or more plaques, weapon racks, and such?

I'm a fan of collecting books.
I plan to have myself my own personal library. Now-.. I just need the space to them all.

Well, mainly, I wish that when I left my house and came back, gnomes didn't throw my things everywhere.

there is a odd process but it can be done. Just check the bugs section at http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Houses. I don't know if there is a workaround for the ps3 or not. The one for the 360 worked for me.

It's not that hard to keep track of things. You need a separate container for each kind of things like iron armor. If an item show as iron boots (2) then you can get rid of the extra. You get to know what kind of items you still need to fill out a set. Except for books. I had an Oblivion mod that let me know if I had already read some book if I picked it up, I hope someone makes a Skyrim mod for that. What I really hate are quests that make you give back some unique item to complete the quest.

I'm still seriously considering a hoarder character. I've seen the cabbage house, and some stunning gem collections. I want a house I can't even MOVE in :D

I know! My Dibella statues are always strewn about when I come home. Lousy gnomes!

Ha! So did I. It would make for an interesting RP.

On Topic. When i make the move to PC, in a few weeks, the MODs like Overlook Tower and The Hideout will be one of the first. The vid on the latter looks amazing, with a manny for all of the armosr and book shelves for ALL the books.

I was hoping this was referring to "Collector" as in a collector of souls.

Each character I play picks a collecting goal. This one is books... last one was foodstuffs. I'm not really sure what the next character will compulsively hoard, but I'll come up with something.
