Who's used the thalmor disguise?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 7:58 pm

As some of you may know the some races can disguise as thalmor in the embassy, anyone else find it hilarious to hear them say to my Bosmer "get over here, let me look at your face" or "your a bit short..."

I tried on my Nord male and failed. I didn't bother on my Nord female.

Your race gives you easier detection, high elves can apparently go unnoticed?

I didn't know you could do this until a few days ago, but then again I've never played as High Elf so why bother?

You don't get a option, you just take the robes and try it...

I saw the robes there and thought about putting them on and trying to slip past, but thought "nah, they couldn't have been that clever to actually let me do this", but I guess I was wrong. Probably wouldn't have worked on my current character anyways seeing as I'm Khajiit lol..

The robes you find lying at the embassy don't work, since they're not hooded. You need to kill a thalmor justiciar and use his hooded robes. Did it with my Nord character, and as long as I kept to walking and keeping a decent distance from thalmor it worked out fine. Can't stay put at the same place for too long either, or they'll get suspicious. When they start saying "Let me take a look at your face", you better start walking away asap.

I'm kinda hoping it also works with other uniforms, like a guard's, or a cook's or something else faction-related. Should prove useful with an assassin character. Unfortunately, forsworn already doesn't work, so i'm afraid they only implemented it with the thalmor.

That would be awesome for assassin roleplay! Imagine dressing in a guard's uniform, walking through town, and have a real guard say in passing, "I bet you were an adventurer like me, til you took an arrow in the knee." :lmao:

I would love for this to work with the Forsworn. They have the only headgear/helmet that my character wears. Although being a Bosmer wouldn't help the effort!

I did with my Altmer character. The guards said things like "never seen her before," and when approaching the justiciars they say "do you need something?" There's a persuade option with the door guard at the solarium, where you can tell him that Elenwen is looking for him. Inside the solarium, they turn hostile if they see you, though.

No. I tried sneaking in the embassy as Dunmer. Didn't last two minutes.

Using the Hooded Thalmor Robes worked with my Altmer character too. I could walk right up to the guard outside the door and he just said something like "Shouldn't you be at your post?" I didn't stick around though and the guards inside the Solar do turn hostile if they see you.

Odd. It should work with a Bosmer character, yet for me it didn't. I'll need to load a save and try it again.

Yep, that's what they said to me on my Nord dude - it's been a while so I had forgotten...I'm still kinda' foggy on the details, but I think there was a fight after that.

I know, right? My chick wears the full set-up, but I haven't tried with a Forsworn weapon attached. I doubt that would work , but I may try it.
On the flip side I think it's hilarious when I forget to change out of the Forsworn armor and enter Markarth and the meat seller says, "I can't believe anyone was dumb enough to mistake you for a Forsworn Agent.".

It kind of works with a Bosmer. When I tried with my Bosmer the guards outside were non-hostile at first and said something like, "Are you new around here?" but once they could see me clearly they attacked. That makes sense to me since my male Bosmer was way shorter than any Altmer would be.
