so who was it who erased the game from my HD?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 6:56 pm

You guys or bloody Steam? Since last saturday steam claimed the "game was not avaiable" since I have been really busy since I had no chance to check it. But it looks like one of you deleted the entire directory. I sure didn't so it had to be one of you. Now tell me why? I realize you are not really good at PC's so did my other post make you all mad and stuff so you take revenge?

I've looked over your posts, and it seems you really REALLY hate this game for the PC. Almost all of your posts are in degridation of Skyrim for PC.

And are you so sure that they deleted it? Couldn't have been someone in your household or a roomate?

Maybe EA did it... they're trying to make Steam look bad so people will use Origin instead. :P

Well, when I've received that message from Steam in the past, I cleared it by going to Steam and verifying the game cache (under properties for Skyrim> local files tab). You'll have to reset the game options at the startup menu when you relaunch Steam. Perhaps you've already tried this?

Although I don't like the idea of being forced to use Steam to run a game I bought on disc, I very much doubt that they are able to delete anything in my computer. It's either you or someone who has access to your machine. Maybe you tried to do something but deleted the content instead...

I wonder though... could this have actually been perpetrated by a disgruntled NPC from within the game? Something like "Lose/Lose":

This seems a lot like another underhanded tactic from Ulfric Stormcloak. Which side of the war did you choose?

what you see is someone, unlike yourself, who only comes to the boards when there is an issue, not someone, like you, who hangs out here because you have no life except to beat up on other people on boards with nonsense and personal insults in the vain hope the mods will see how "special" you are and let you join in their reindeer games or whatever...

First of all, the game cannot delete itself. At all. If it did, it wouldn't be able to even run the delete function as the file wouldn't exist.

This is either one of two things:

1) You or someone with access to your machine did something.
2) Steam triggered the "Delete Local Content" function for some reason, and if so needs to be reported to Valve in the proper bug report section on the Steam forums in a polite manner if it still shows in your Steam Library. If it doesn't show in the library, you'll need to contact Steam Support as something is up with the account.

The first one is the most likely scenario.

Second of all, no need to attack anyone. It serves no purpose, really.

This is not a forum for official support inquiries. If you want to talk to Bethesda, you need to contact them directly via their support ticket system. What you'll get here is unofficial support from fellow users...that is, assuming you don't berate and insult them so much they decide they're disinclined to assist. :stare:
