Who will side with the Forsworn?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 3:13 am

My Nord character, Svetlana, slit the "King of Rags'" wizard the first chance she got. My Breton character fell into line with her brothern "The Forsworn." I wish there were other quests that are pro-Forsworn. They have some of the most interesting rituals in the game. However, the friendly Forsworn in the Reach will attack Shadowmere on sight which is annoying.

I always sided with the forsworn... yet every one I encounter goes hostile at the site of me.

I think once I came across a camp and was able to talk to one, thought it was a bug they were not attacking, but then they did. :( I don't know. This was right after Skyrim came out, no updates with my first character. I just remember ending up in prison and just wanting out. Got cool armor from it and always went that route since.

Spoiler

If you free the "King in Rags" from the prison mine, his group of Forsworn
live in a good-sized camp in the northern Reach. Most of the other Forsworn will
usually warn you away instead of being instantly hostile.

This may be interesting.

The Foresworn always attack me on sight without provication, therefore, my character retaliates by killing them all, their king included.

I personally find the Forsworn abhorrent. But I hope y'all get more quests etc. If you're on pc, you should start checking the quest mods - probably some people will be making quest mods based on Forsworn....

Yes they are "abhorrant," but they fit my Breton she-devil perfectly. Brittany Darkheart practically lives at Druadach Redoubt.

If the developers had the time, I think there is great possibility with an epic quest to retake the Reach.

Unfortunately, like the Thalmor, it is impossible to actually join the Forsworn, which is ridiculous. I wanted to join the the Thalmor of the Altmeri Dominion and even went as far as to create an Altmer character, but to no avail. Same with the Forsworn. I've never been able to talk to any before as they attack on sight. After all of the wonderful things they've done with this game, it seems like maybe that would be something that could be added later down the road....

I honestly kind of feel bad for the Forsworn.

That is, until I went into one of their ruins and I saw a Nord citizen who was tortured to death via head scraping against a grindstone.

Then I slit every single one of their throats, I did however, spare the friendly Forsworn that were with King Madanach. They should release something Forsworn related, much material to be had there especially with their crazy rituals. It'd be great if you could become a Briarheart.

Same thing with the Aldmeri Dominion, although I imagine there would be some lore resetting to do if the player character isn't an elf.

Siding with Madanach only gets you 1 little cave base of friendly Forsworn

It seems like an easy fix is it not? This is my newbie side talking and I may try this. Make a mod and change your faction to theirs. Should be a 10 minute deal start to finish. Yes?

The forsworn are hateful towards me whenever I walk into them. It could be that I kill them everytime I see them or maybe its that I rob them given the chance.

No, I think they pretty much attack everybody on sight. The first time I ever enter the Reach on every single playthrough, I'm hardly across the border before I've got Forsworn coming at me with intent to kill. And all I'm doing is bopping down the road minding my own business. Would I ever side with them? Nope, not likely.

What's interesting is that on every single playthrough, I've also come across a group of 4-5 Forsworn somewhere out in the Reach who are just standing in a group doing nothing. They do not attack, they do not register as hostile, and if I walk close enough I get the same generic dialogue that I would get from any other random, initially passive NPC... "Need something?" "Good morning!" "Hmm?"

I've tried standing right in the middle of their group for minutes at a time, drawing my weapons, running up to and bumping into each of them in turn over and over... but they never even so much as give me a warning. It's very odd. I don't know if they are scripted to be waiting for some particular quest or event to happen, or what. And it's not because they're part of the group that accepts you if you side with Madanach in the Cidhna Mine quest, unless it's bugged, because I've never sided with him and always killed him.

If you are on PC there are a couple of awesome mods that let you join them and another that gives them the kind of Kingdom they deserve.
I would recomend 2 mods: Forsworn Faction Pack, and Kingdom Of Forsworn

Uh... The forsworn are demon worshippers who practice human sacrifice and cannibalism. Just so you know who your friends are.

Gimee that Old Time Religion!

Presumably the word forsworn is a reference to "renegade" American Indians.

If you joined the faction, presumably most of the Nord based population would attack you on sight, but a quest to reach a better acomodation between Forsworn and Nords would be satisfying.

Be nice if there was one faction in Skyrim you could actually feel were good guys.

I had the problem with the horse's faction, by the way. Your horse's faction relationship ought to change with yours, but apparently this is the only instance in the game where your faction settings do change, so it's understandable they didn't bother.

My Dragonborn is a man who kill his friends to upgrade a sword(soul trap them as well), sacrifice people who like him for cool armor and eat peoples. I don't see how any of that would make the Forsworn.

Personally I would prefer to get the best off two worlds in that quest: Killing the King in Rags and the leader fo the Silver-Blood family. However since that is not an option I prefer to side with the Silver-Blood's. I prefer a corrupt nord family than letting the leader of the Forsworn leave alive.

In the past the Forsworn might have been a better chioice, but I do not think that is the case at the time this happens.

All those disgusting, animal-worshiping beasts deserve slow, painful deaths. I never liked them and their entire way of life is an abomination to all society.

Believe me my Nord character, looks down on the Forsworn with utter disdain, but they do the work of Sithis in their own way. They then join him . After helping Madanach with my Breton, I noticed that a lot of Forsworn do not attack on sight.

At Adams, I am aware that there is a mod for almost every dream, but alas I am playing on xbox. :dead:
