Post » Tue May 31, 2011 6:15 pm

So just like the first one: Who would win if the courier had died in Goodsprings?

Hang on kdn, let me fill out this thread before the others do.

One person will say NCR, the other will say Legion, then quote the NCR guy and mock his NCR opinion, then a bunch of NCR guys will come in here and start defending NCR guy #1, then the Legion supporters, then the thread will derail into NCR vs Legion....again.

Edit: (Not being hostile to you OP, more annoyed with I just know how these threads go)

Talon Company, the only reason they didn't take over Vegas was because they knew the Courier was the main character, and the only interaction they've had with another main character is with the Lone Wanderer, so they stayed away.

Neither, one or the other.. but my tuppence is on neither.
More than likely it would be a very bloody stalemate, followed by another very bloody stalemate with various small shifts in borders.

Oh, I agree completely. NCR/Legion arguments eventually rule thse discussions, but untill then...

In all honestly though, I don't give a rat's hind leg about the NCR or the Legion. I'd like to know more about the third party guys: House, Boomers, Khans, Omertas, Brotherhood of Stell, White Gloves... Talon Company. The Courier has more effect on these groups than the other two.

Edit: And on that note, I'd like to say that when those arguements occur it makes it such a pain in the ass for the rest of us. Our coments get lost in the deluge of "I'm right you're wrong" back and forth. Aslo I don't think people should call each other stupid, it's just childish.

Hmmm well the small guys,
I see the Boomers staying static.. they still have a decade or more worth of ammo.
Khans as Amazon said they too are my favourite and will get screwed by all sides.. dead and unburied is most likely.
Kings I see as bloodied but surviving.
Jacobstown harrased and likely becoming another Utobitha.
Speaking of Tabitha is not really going anywhere.
Powder gangers, wiped out at the NCRCF, hanging on raiding regions on the outskirts.
Fiends, still going nuts and recruiting constantly.
The small settlements like Novac and Goodsprings don't really have a hope tbh.
The families will most likely survive and start fighting each other for dominance more and more.

The ncr would win, they already defeated the legion at the dam once and without the couriers intervention they would do it again. *braces for legion supporter onslaught*

The ncr would lose, they already barely defeated the legion at the dam once and without the couriers intervention they wouldn't be able do it again.

Fixed that for you.

Mako you know good and well that if the courier didn't interfere the ncr would ultimately win out against the legion, even if it didn't happen at the dam there's no way in hell the legion could hold the mojave against their full force. The war might get stretched out for a few more years but sooner or later a fully pissed off ncr is going to knock the legion back. I have no doubt it would be bloody for both sides but the ncr would win, even if it took awhile longer than with the couriers help.

 No, the Courier saves the NCRs ass, the NCR needs the Courier to win at Forlorn, to not have the monorail explode, to not, to not, to not, etc, etc. They use them to fix their problems, the Legion doesn't need the Courier, they only want them to help make it easier, but they don't need them.

Damn it. Apex and Mako, please don't start that. Let us have a few pages of discussion that doesn't involve either of those two before the whole "NCR would beat Legion" and "Legion would beat NCR" back and forth takes over.

Personally I would love to see a wasteland under the control of Utobitha and the Boomers. If nothing else it would make for some interesting gameplay. Not to mention you could watch the Super Mutants go charging into no-man's land only to be blown apart by Boomer howitzers.

I think if House didn't do something to strengthen his authority on the Strip the other three families would rip each other apart.

I still don't take a lot of the NCR quests 100% seriously because I feel if it were treated as if it were real the NCR would fix a lot of the problems. It feels as if a lot of the quests are just things to have the player do and without them the game would be empty. Don't get me wrong the NCR is definitely in worse shape for the 2nd battle then the Legion, but I don't think it would have been that bad.

For example why does the NCR need the courier to just walk over to the outpost to get troops for Primm, or why does the courier have to do 2/3 of the I fought the law quest for the Powder Gangers to get the NCR to retake the NCRCF. All I'm saying if it weren't a game aka no Courier the NCR would probably have attended to a lot of its mistakes.

Talon Company, seriously? They are like your average wasteland raider with some combat armor on them....

Still with the? I don't see how the Brotherhood would win. At all.

Without getting into yet another argument, I still think the Legion might have it. During the game they barely even need your help, they already have it all planned out. You're just making things easier for them. The only really big thing you do, wich would be rather hard for them would be that
Spoiler
You disabled House and his army of robots
.

Speaking of House, he does have a nice hand concerning the battle. Hmm....He could win.

The Legion wins the battle for the Mojave without a doubt.
I really don't see the CL lasting for much longer in the long run though.
