Sorry everybody cannot be 16-18 years old, people grow up and age.
But as the above poster said, tough life gets the better of you. oh and the cold climate would effect you as well.

I don't think he was trying to insist that everyone SHOULD be 18 years old. He is simply wondering why, I myself have actually noticed that everyone looks 40+

I kind of think there's a bigger trend in video games, especially with male characters, where everyone has to look like [censored], as some kind of rebellion against eastern/JP trends, and idealized trends in Hollywood. I see it happening beyond this game. Hopefully it'll die off. Answering an extreme, with another extreme, generally isn't a good idea. Take a look at kingdoms of amalur. It has the same issue.. like every human looks like an old cop or something. And the light elves look like overgrown anteaters. Their noses are ridiculous.

There should be balance, agreed, but a good balance, many games/stories have a "balance" where the King and some Important Characters are inexplicably handsome while every peasant is extremely ugly.

True enough. I don't want to see any Prince Charmings around either.

Umm.. I bet the guy who plays the dovahkiin in the live action trailer is fairly rugged, but young. Like a Viggo Mortensen when he played in LOTR. That isn't too idealized. Same with a majority of MMA fighters or Hockey players. Not everyone looks all crusty, just because they can fight. Besides weather, some skin ages differently. I'm 34, and I still don't have wrinkles, like some of my friends.

It is weird that you're either 10 years old, or you're a full grown advlt who has seen some hard times. Unless you're a female hunter bathing in some hot springs.

I call ageism! Kids talk about not being sixist or racist or homophobic, but they don`t seem to mind being ageist! i`ve looked at mods on the Nex site and it`s so annoying seeing the silly mods that turns every male advlt of about 30+ into some kind teenage girly boy!

Anyway. It`s reasonable to assume that in those days life was tough, so everyone above 16 would generally look about 10 years older than they actually are.

I do believe they are actually in their thirties. I ran across a .dds file that was labeled as ..........age30.dds, in the Textures>female folder. But, I an a senior citizen and I could be wrong about that. Senility and all. :hehe:

I don't know. People like Ulfric Stormcloak who are atleast 50 seem to have aged fairly well.

There should've been some younger 20 year old NPCs but I definitely prefer the middle-aged advlts. Its pretty weird at times when an NPC says something about their parents disallowing something and the NPC himself looks like an advlt well past his early 20s.
