Why are the Silverhand the Bad guys? (Possible Spoilers)

Post » Sat Jun 23, 2012 5:27 pm

This has been bothering me for a long time, cause it would seem the Silverhand has good intentions. All they want is to take out the undead creatures of Skyrim, namely Werewolfs. Is there a particular reason why you can't join them and why they are evil?

There nothing but common bandits, there hostile to everyone, they skin and torture werewolves, there nothing but shadows compared to the orignal "hunters of night" guild, the order of virtuous blood.

They may have good intentions but the method they choose to carry their goals is questionable.

This seems to be the most satisfactory response, as well as the fact that they are very bandit like in nature.

People keep saying ^this. Is it just a forum trend to talk about the DLC including werebears, or what?

I would love that to be true, but I just have no idea where all this talk is coming from.

That would not make any sense what so ever.

I would like for werebears to be added, but I just don't see how they could fit into the Dawnguard. Maybe just wild werebears for now?

Its because a beta tester(DovahBear) said he knew something about werebears, and then his comments got deleted and his account banned.

If anyone has read "lord of the flies" they would know the books message everyone has evil inside them, they choose to hide it and pretend to have facade of civilization, the Silver hand uses there "goal" as a way of "thinking" what they do is "good", buts its a lie and the only reason they do it is because they want to act on there primal darkness.

Wow. Then I guess we can assume he was messing with us, or actually telling the truth. Either way he deserved to get banned. I guess we'll find out Tuesday, already got my MSP loaded up

The Silver Hand's methods are extremely questionable and I definitely don't consider them good. If we were to be able to have joined any "good" faction that hunted things that went "bump in the night", it would have to be the Vigilants of Stendarr for me.

He didn't even say much tbh. He was actually replying to my comment on how I didn't want the dawnguard faction to be werebears. I didn't even take his comment seriously, until the mods banned him. Now the person who started the great werebear thread on the other hand, that was a showdown.

Good intentions aren't always done in the most humane form. They have a decent reason to rid of us wolves but not in the manner they are now.
Besides I've actually seen a group (maybe a glitch) pop into Whiterun attacking people (I'm not talking about the quest).

How ironic, I was there posting in that thread both before and after he made that post.

I didn't really think it would be blown to such great proportions. It seemed like a purposely vague troll post. It was basically like me being known to have a time machine, then posting on the forums: "I know something about JFK's assassination."

When i saw that thread i started busting out laughing and posted it on the Beta forums. That is when Dovahbear was noticed by the Beta testers.

I have no idea, and it angers me greatly.

I just know if the Silver Hand was a joinable faction I would be able to get badass unique silver weapons, plus it would be cool if when i joined them I get to out the Companions as a bunch of people hunting werewolves. To the Jarl, and the people of Whiterun.

I would hope that the [censored] storm afterwards would be suitably hilarious.

The Silver Hand consists of bandits and vampires, and their past times involve torture and murder. Seems like everything is covered by the Dark Brotherhood.

This otherwise you would of been able to continue the Companions questline, without becoming a werewolf.
