Why cant my redguard marry a redguard?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:14 am

I'm trying to find a husband for my redguard, Ashlyn. There are two male redguards in Solitutde that aren't married, the fletcher and the executioner. Both would be perfect for her, especially the fletcher because they're both from Hammerfell, but for some reason the option never appears for her to marry them. Why are there no male redguards that can be married? I dont understand this design decision. I also heard there aren't many beasts or elves to choose from either. I understand the lack of diversity in Skyrim, but out of the few minorities there are, why are so few marriable? (ha I just made up a word)

There's very few suitable women to marry full stop. Only one I find nice enough is Ysolda, and she dresses like a tramp. Wish every NPC in the game had been made marriable, some of the waitresses in taverns are definetely wife material.

There's one marriageable Redgaurd in Skyrim. Anwen, at the temple of Dibella in Markarth. No illegible bachelors.
They're in the same boat as Altmer, one lady you can marry, no fellas.

Better than Khajiit, & Bosmer though. None of them.

Yeah, I thought it was rather disappointing. The marriage options are a real bummer. Unless you're a fan of Imperials, Nords or Dunmer, there's very little to choose from.

I love all the races of Tamriel, but lately I've been favoring redguards. Their lore is just so awesome. Unfortunetly, Bethesda doesn't seem to think they're marriage material I guess...

It svcks too, because Redguards love marriage. One of their gods, Morwha, literally has four arms so she can "grab more husbands" hahaha

Thanks for the correction. And there already is a little Yokudan running around in Whiterun. For some reason all kids in skyrim look like nords though

True I had no idea that child was a Redguard, thought they were all Nords.

I was actually correcting happydayz, Redguards come from the (now submerged) continent of Yokuda, not Africa.

Not only that, but apparently, she won't even move into the player's house. She just stays where she is. And she's not a follower, so you can't take her on thrilling Redguard adventures. This makes the Alik'r warrior I'm eventually going to create very sad.

Yeah I know. By the way, Yokuda may not actually be submerged. There's a legend of Cyrus going back to Yokuda. It's just a wasteland, probably because the ansei were splitting atoms with their swords (pankraatosword technique) and made the place a radioactive nightmare.

Anyway back on topic: why do you think Bethesda made it so these people couldn't be married? It saddens me....

Nope. Argonians can't have a child with other races. Same applies to Khajiit.

Sorry argonian fans.
An argonian with anyone else is too horrifying to imagine.

Well that right there is because of how biology works on Nirn. The child of two races always becomes the race of the mother. Only after multiple generations and gene combinations do hybrids begin to appear. So if the mother was half nord and half argonian, and she had a baby with an argonian, then the kid would probably be some freaky lizard girl.

Back on topic though, the fact that there are so few marriage options with minority races is rediculous
