Corners were cut and frankly the game wasn't really tested.
The game will be sorted out in time(probably)as to when, could be this week could be next month could be not at all.
Just be patient or you can feel ripped off and angry. Time will tell.

lol.

First of all it's not next month it's on Tuesday May, 31.
Secondly they released the game a week early so that everyone could enjoy it. yeah corners were cut but it's not like our characters are holding Bullets and shooting guns.
Finally is the fact that if you feel ripped off go play cod with their 15 dollar map packs because were getting 2 new maps 6 new abilities a level cap increase and about 4 new weapon attachments all for free.

sounds like you work for this company by the way you replied. so, here is what i have to say. if the company is not ready to release something that will work as promised, they should not release it. i, for one, feel ripped off because we were promised near limitless character customization and ended up with very limited customization. furthermore, when in 3rd person(i.e. taking a command post), the customization that i did does not show on my character. so, why have customization if it does not show. their are lag and graphics issues that should not be present. so, i feel that i paid $60 for a game that should have cost $20 - $30. that means that i feel we should get all this DLC for free. when i go to work, i make sure that whatever i am working on works properly before i release it for use. if someone does not ensure that their craftsmanship is good before allowing their product to be used, then they set their self up for failure and give their self a bad name. bethesda should have never put their name on this project.

"Someone on the forums isn't bothered by an issue in the game? They must be lying, and they're obviously an operative developer in disguise!"

Nearly every bug in Brink is the kind of bug that can't be simulated outside of real-world conditions. It's extremely difficult to simulate things like cross-country connections and lag-related issues prior to a game's release, and semi-random data corruption (such as the voice-swapping bug) is the kind of thing that no programmer would ever think to check for (as well as the kind of thing that is unlikely to ever be discovered before release, simply because it's a common, but not frequent, bug).

When you stop paying attention to those kinds of freak-accident bugs and start looking at things from the developers' point of view, I think you'll find that http://brinkthegame.com/community/blogs/detail/?id=2 http://brinkthegame.com/community/blogs/ http://brinkthegame.com/community/blogs/detail/?id=3 http://brinkthegame.com/community/blogs/detail/?id=4 http://brinkthegame.com/community/blogs/detail/?id=6.

Ahahaha, did you say good networking??

[censored] this game. Today I tried several times to play with other people, but every Competition and Old Skool game I joined was empty. Just me. This game is dead, there is no reason for Splash Damage to waste their time trying to fix it. It is much too late.

How exactly did it come down to making this choice? It's not like they were pressed for time or anything.

Time is not the only limit a game has to adhere to. Limitations on the console's processing power, on its networking abilities, and on the Internet connections of those actually playing the game all force developers to make certain sacrifices.

As pointed out by many others, there are several multiplayer games on the 360 that handle large amounts of data and manage to look good at the same time. And I've yet to see any developer say they had to make sacrifices because someone might be trying to play on dialup.

Those multiplayer games make their own sacrifices, especially in the areas of technical reliability (Halo: Reach, for example) and not being almost the exactly the same after each iteration (Call of Duty, for example).

Reach is a particularly good example of games that make alternate sacrifices (and it's the example I am most familiar with). Reach has better graphics and networking than Brink. However, those come with some pretty heavy sacrifices. The netcode, for example, doesn't sync nearly as much information as Brink does -- you can actually goad it into desyncing key objectives! And that amazing graphics engine? It's actually ridiculously unstable. Dropped frames are insanely common on custom maps, and are even a frequent occurrence on built-in non-Forged maps and on official, Bungie-made custom maps. Reach also sacrificed data storage reliability; it very frequently corrupts hard drive data (yes, any data at all that gets saved to the drive) beyond all possibility of recovery. Their file system is as buggy as the Resistance is malnourished.

So that's an example of one of the "several multiplayer games on the 360" that handles tons of data and looks good, but it makes its own sacrifices. All things considered, Brink's sacrifices are extremely reasonable -- and in several cases, they're actually preferable to those made in bigger games.

[/essay] [/semi-rant]

EDIT: And as for developers talking about sacrifices... Why would they ever admit to sacrifices? They have a game to sell!

I actually like the game.................

I used to play mod's on the PC for years. Updates all the time and things just got better and better. I play on the 360 now cuz i got fed up with upgrading my PC all the time.

I don't feel ripped-off for buying this game, it's good fun and the gameplay is super imo.

And I am not working for the company! :P
