Why do my companions ruin my shots?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:27 am

This drives me crazy.

I'll be lining up a long range shot, get a bead on the target..then just as i fire my character gets a bump.

Turn around and either one,or both,of my companions is right up my keister pushing me foward.

This is with them on keep distance and passive.

Why?

Besides Murphy's Law.

You would not believe how many times the companions walk right in front of me the moment I fire for a sneak attack.... always have to reload because a sneak attack head shot kills them.

My companions usually screw things up by shooting first.

I'll be getting prepared and setting traps (explosive traps) for my targets and have everything just right, then my buddy runs out into the open and just starts firing... Can't tell you how many times I was tempted to just put a round in the back of my buddy's head because he/she decided to attack.

So companions are dumb and mess stuff up.

*Sigh*

At least their good for conversation.

Except for ED-E.

Yeah companions charge if you are in [CAUTION] mode, even if you ask them to be passive.

I prefer if companions charge if you are in [DANGER] mode instead. That way a sniper character can wait out the [CAUTION] mode till it goes back to [HIDDEN].

Sigh just one of the reason I hate companions, expect Ed. They ever mess up an attack, walk into your shot or just get you killed through stupid ideas (aka they charge to soon). :(

Victoria actually gave me a panic attack (first combat with her) when I used her in the last round. :D

Ah companions, making the game too easy, and are annoying as hell.

I wish someone would make a mod...to make them not be total killing machines and you would actually need to take care of them...give stimpak? Why? He regenerates instantly and in the heat of battle I dont really have time to offer them stimpaks.

I've never had a problem with companions getting in my way, sometimes Boones rifle barrel will sweep across my sight but that's it, I'm on my third character with 100s of hours invested overall.
