Deadric armour is infused with the soul of a lesser deadra, and i guess that gives it the edge somehow. Dragon plate is just normal bone. My guess is that deadric armour is magical while dragonplate is not, and thats why it is stronger.

Dragons totally aren't magical or divine or anything. Nope.

define this for me:

lore wise
or
system wise

lore wise see antongranis's comment,

system wise, as in the speccing, the idea is that there are two sides of the tree: light armor (if I recall it's the left side) and heavy armor (think it's right side) and daedric armor is on the right side, therefore heavier but better armor rating. The dragon armor is lighter but better armor rating. hope this helps.

Dragons are lesser Aedra, his comment doesn't exactly stand lore-wise.

They might be magical, but nevertheless their bones are just bones. Im pretty sure their skeleton is rather ordinary.

alright let me c if i can try and surmise something... lorewise...

1.daedra are divine creatures
2.daedra ressurect infinitely, inevitably
3.daedra are capable of influencing the surrounding world (i.e the plains of oblivion and nirn is possibly a plain of oblivion originally belonging to mehrunes dagon, atleast thats what i have learned)

as for dragons
1. dragons are not divine creatures, rather created by divine creatures
2.dragons do live on infinitely, but not inevitably, since dragonborns exist
3.dragons are capable of influencing the world through more... destructive means...

dragons
better put, daedra are pretty close to gods. while dragons were made by gods, aka, akatosh.

I say lets go with both, though originally I was meaning specs wise,I.E stat/armor rating etc.. although I'm willing to take lore as well since I especially need to brush up on my elder scroll lore.

Oh and just in case I didn't make this clear enough I meant the heavy armor for both...So not DragonScale armor, but DragonPlate armor.

dragon plate is still lighter than daedric plate, if i recall correctly (id check but im doing this on my iphone so no computer nearby...)

EDIT:maybe i wasn't clear when i commented, but the idea is it is the lighter varient, and lighter armor for the heavy armor class... so yeah... tell me if im correct...

Because you'll have more dragon bones than you'll ever know what to do with, very fast.

Their both magical. It's just that the magic in Daedric is much stronger.

Does it really matter? Armor caps at 567.

If you must be technical though, Dragonplate is better than Daedric, it has a higher weight-defense ratio. This is negated if you want to use several perks for conditioning.

didn't they fix this difference in a patch? heard about it. gotta check some time.

and why does it matter? dude armor rating is completely irrelevant. you can do the whole game wearing iron armor... i don't know why you always want the highest stats

Lore wise

For Dragonplate/scale you use the empty shell of the dragon, not the immortal soul (it is absobed by the Dragonborne).
The Body of a dragon is not immortal.

For Daedric you infuse Ebony with the soul of a lesser Daedra.

Dragonplate/scale = not soul infused
Daedric = soul infused

I believe Aedra can die, like Lorkhan (but his heart continued to beat, which was part of Mankar Camoran's defense for why Tamriel was another plane of Oblivion), but when Daedra "die" they simply go back to Oblivion and are thus immortal. Armor made with the souls of immortals > armor made from the bones of mortals. When the dragons come back to life, Alduin's shout is really reversing time and undoing their deaths. That's not something they would have been capable of on their own.

I'm not sure of my own understanding of lore either, but I think Aedra are responsible for mortality in some form.

Osteoporosis is fine too. Do those dragons look like milk drinkers to you?

Well it's not necessarily better, if you don't take the heavy armor conditioning perk then dragon is preferable (half the weight). You can reach the cap with any armor, so it's just about looks to be honest.

But then again, I only ever take the steel and arcane smithing perks, improving all armor x2 makes you to strong. I also ignore the conditioning perk as it's to unrealistic.

But the wolf armor is probably the bestheavy armor, it's affected by the steel perk, stupidly light and you can reach the cap. The again if you get the conditioning perk then it doesn't matter, they all weigh nothing.

From a lore perspective I imagine ebony armor infused with the heart of a daedra would be magically stronger than armor made from the bones of dragons.

Maybe Daedric Armors' atoms are more tightly compact then Dragonbone Armor making it more durable.

The cost to obtain a Daedric set is significantly higher than a Dragon set. Daedric hearts are much rarer.

Also, Dragons don't drink enough milk.

Because daedric armor is forged from the blood of a god and infused with a lesser Deadra spirit. Dragonplate is made from bones.

Gampelay wise because Ebony and Daedra Hearts are more difficult and expensive to find than dragon bones and scales, i'd imagine.

It's because daedric armour covers the wearer more than dragon plate armour does by design and make. That's the only logic I see in it as dragon bone/scale is suppose to be the the strongest material in Tamriel. The dragon bone plate armour leaves a lot of exposed flesh as well as some areas being just covered in fur. It's like a traditional Nordic design, or similar to Ancient Nord Armour.

So infact, eventhough dragon bone is stronger than ebony, the area of dragon bone plating in the armour is a lot less than that of ebony plating in daedric armour, equating to less armour rating.
