Why didn't I become chief?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:15 am

So I did 'The Cursed Tribe' last night .. Went to the dungeon and [censored].. Killed the giants.. Killed Chief Yamarz because he was a little weakling.. Got my hopes up .. But no, some other loser gets to be chief. What is up with that? I thought it was in the code of Malacath that whoever defeats the chief of the stronghold in deadly combat becomes the new chief.

I feel cheated. Why have rules and lore and stuff if some voice from the nothingness just completely rips you off in the end anyway..

Because chiefs rule. They don't run errands for other people, they don't go cleaning out dungeons and they certainly don't go chasing after dragons. Heroes have work to do, they can't sit on their butts all day drinking beer and talking trash to the locals. Just consider yourself the honerary chief and move on. Heck, if everything had to be by the book my one character would be chief of all the strongholds in Skyrim.

Being chief isn't all that... when your children grow big and strong enough to kill you, they... do.

It's a nice party while it lasts, though.

I'm not sure if you are even given the title "champion" of Malacath in that quest. You do get the option of taking Volendrung as souvenir though, if that's any consolation.

Unfortunately I've already invested in battleaxe perks otherwise the Volundrung would've been a small consolation but I have ebony batteaxe with drain stamina enchant anyway. I dunno I just really think that as an Orc, there should be a way to become a stronghold chief.

I've been reading this forum way too much now cos I'm thinking .. Bethesda should(could) release some beast-race specific DLC, like more interaction with the strongholds for orcs, maybe something to do with the caravans for Khajiits or something like raising the profiles and getting rid of racism against argonians and khajiits.

I don't have the brain power or patience to flesh those ideas out but I think it would be cool anyway..

I'm on PS3 though so unlucky for me, can't afford a good computer. Maybe it'll be like Oblivion and I can play it on just a regular laptop in 3-4 years time. (Although I never knew about mods and stuff for oblivion when I got it on PC until now aaand I sold it. Boohoo)

Because Malacath knew you would be too busy ruling this tribe. You got things to do, people to kill, places to loot! LOL
