WHY DOES EVERYONE svck?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:33 pm

Every one that ive seen posting gameplay on brink has svcked so far. Its getting kind of annoying that I cant find a single gameplay where the guy doesnt run in the middle of the open an gets lit up by like a hundred different people. Does anyone that has this game have any sense of strategy?

Unfortunately...no.

We cant all be pros like ourselves.

All kiddin aside - I think you have to give a lil benefit of the doubt, Nervous / adrenaline / excitement....there all factors.

I think it will take "everyone" at least - 5 days...to fluently know the ins and outs.

They game is new and never before tried by any other company. Controls are different, gameplay is different, and it take different strategies that people have not figured out yet.

I kind of noticed that as well but the point of the videos is to show off the game and not their "1337 skeelz."
That's for us to do. :flamethrower:

So far we just need to wait until we get our hands on it and show people how it is done.

Brinks not even offically out yet, those who have got the game early would of literally just started playing, give them time oh mighty one.

Ummmm because it's new? People haven't had a chance to play a FPS like Brink before? They are having to much fun getting used to it they forgot standard tactics? Because they are having fun with smart? Because they are too busy recording a game they shouldn't have and not paying attention to the game? Lots of reasons here.

Most gamers aren't that good actually.

I unfortunately, while not one of their number, tend to still do poorly versus actual good players. I'm like the bastard middle-ground: I can take out the average player (lag permitting) but anyone with a lick of actual skill will mop the floor with me, and I see no signs of myself ever improving beyond that point. I apparently have a low personal ceiling :banghead: But again, I can also blame my crappy 3G connection :brokencomputer: There's really no other explanation why my rounds visually connect, but they really didn't : /

Edit: In response to previous posters, there's a difference between not knowing all of the tricks in Brink, and playing like this is your first FPS (ei, neglecting ample use of cover for example.)

Yeah, it will take many people (myself included) a while to learn how to exactly use SMART effectively and learn my role as well.
In past FPS's it always takes me a little bit of time to learn exactly how the game is. Sure they all work in the same way but new things have to be learned for games in order to be the best that you can be.

Look all im saying is that people should use a little more sense that they are when playing this game. the video i watched that inspired me to post this was when i saw a guy running in a room trying to plant a bomb with 4 people shooting him. All i ask is that if your going to post gameplay learn how play before you post. this aside, I guess gamplay is gameplay.

Most of the gameplay I've seen is them playing against bots. My guess is they don't want to go all out and then end up making the bots look terrible. Overall I am underwhelmed with the bots, personally.

To everyone saying that the game is a lot different than other games, it is slightly different. I don't think it is nearly as different as you think it is. People playing aren't doing the things you do when you play a normal FPS game, and mainly it is because they want to showcase more features. I don't necessarily need to watch someone peak and prefire to know that it is possible, I want to watch them run around and show what the game has to offer.

....Because it's new? Especially since they got Brink ahead of the street/release date.
Also, they may be just too excited in showing off that they got the game, lol. :D
Or maybe they are still new to FPS'ses?

WHY DOES EVERYONE svck?

Because it's the only way to use a straw? Like other people have said (which makes this post somewhat pointless), it's a new game and people are getting use to it. Not to be mean here, but I'd also guess most of the videos are from casual gamers, or gamers who play various types of games. They probably don't spend 40+ hours a week playing competitive FPSs.

I unfortunately, while not one of their number, tend to still do poorly versus actual good players. I'm like the bastard middle-ground: I can take out the average player (lag permitting) but anyone with a lick of actual skill will mop the floor with me, and I see no signs of myself ever improving beyond that point. Not to sound full of myself, but I'm generally an above average player in FPS games (sadly the total opposite in fighters and sports games), but for whatever reason the random "noobs" always seem to be the ones to kill me. Such as 11 year old little Timmy who has no idea what he's doing, but really enjoys throwing random explosives around the map, or maybe even venturing off as if the game is some sort of MMO and ends up shooting me in the back from a random location most people don't even consider to be a logical place to be. The worst is with games that allow guests to play with you. Some player decides to invite a friend over that has never played an FPS. Loves to play some Elder Scrolls, but never got into the FPS scene. Of course, I unintentionally make his day when he gets his first kill ever after he has died 15-20 consecutive times.

Ah cmon :P. Are u really trying to tell me u get pissed off because some guy fails at a game to show off some gameplay :S. Look at it this way. If it wasnt for noobs the pro's would not be able to stand out :).

True story.

I think its because the players you see are using a console, and consoles just really don't do brink any justice at all.

Enough of this. When the game has been officially released you can comment on playstyle and everything else, but some of the content of this thread leads to a close.
