Why to hate the guards ?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:23 am

Hello everybody !
I want to see why people hate the guards , not just hate , but CAN'T STAND THEM.
In my case , I love them !
They saved my life a few times..
In my whole gameplay time ( 400 hours ) I heard the "Overused" phrase just TWICE.
I use my IMAGINATION and RP every single one as a person ( Yes they kinda look like army of copies in their armor ).

Well , Discuss !!

I don't hate the guards as much as their overused lines.

"Let me guess... someone stole your sweetroll."

BISH. I'm the Archmage, Listener, Master Thief, Harbinger AND THE [censored] DOVAKIIN.
They'd be nuts to steal my sweetroll. :stare:

I hate how they imply you are a thief and a house burner, that's it.

Nobody really knows that you're Dovahkiin before you save the world ( not so much even after that ) , maybe except Whiterun..

Now I love them more.

I suppose that's true. I hate being accused of all sorts though.

Exactly! I'm a master of destruction, mr. guard, sir. I think I know how to not burn down houses.

I don't hate the guards, just their use of some lines. Especially when I am a thane to the Jarl they serve, I shouldn't have to deal with their japes about sweetrolls, damn them.

I hate the guards because they are the prime enemy of any stealthy character. I like to murder them in the streets at night when I can.

I cant stand the guards since they dont think about helping someone who gets attacked by three heavily armed thugs. I had to run all the way to a bandit hideout to get help. Stupid cowards

Guards are just doing their jobs for the most part, unless their Stormcloak or Markarth.

I hate them. In Markarth, they attacked without reason, so I had to kill them all and everytime I come back to Markarth, they don't give up and try again.

I don't care, if they attack me, they gonna get roasted.

You just talked about a problem of Skyrim. Even after becoming the Harbinger they call me the companions mead fetcher T_T
I also like the guards. I don't like their lines that's it :)

Guards are fine, I enjoy the sheer variety of things they have to say. The overused phrase was never, never, ever too present in the game, it showed up in the comments sections everywhere because it was an easily manipulable phrase.

Well at least I can still turn Baalgruf into ice and Fus Roh Da a guard without consequences, at least before they become hostile.
