Just so you know, you have to land in water that is deep enough to swim in or you will die. So, puddle is not quite true. Pond is more like it.

Now, I have not tested in this game, but this is how it is in prior games. And, just to note, I loved Cliff Diving in New Vegas in one of the DLCs

I haven't done any cliff diving yet, but I do sometimes stop just to watch the water. The waterfalls are especially pretty, and they make me thirsty.

Too bad there's no screenshot option for consoles. I used to take pictures of my character(s) in Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 + Xbox 360 everytime I came upon pretty scenery, as if I was recording their adventure, from when newly created to wearing end-game gear, and everything in between.
