Why no option for eatingsleeping requirement?

Wouldn't a eating and sleeping requirement add more RP sense in the game? As optional ofc. All that cooking stuff would mean more than, am i wrong ?

Seconded. They should take most/all of the rules in Fallout New Vegas's hardcoe mode.

I'd love it, but I can see why it was left out. FO is about survival, so that kind of rummaging for sustenance and a safe bed makes sense in the game world (although it wasn't much of a challenge really). Plus I remember reading on here that many people found it irritating and lacking depth, so they might have felt that there weren't enough people who liked it enough.
I honestly did think it was in when I heard of the cooking though, and that the rads would be replaced with frostbite and hypothermia or something. Never mind.

Actually cooking and eating food is very beneficial to your stats.

Sleeping in an owned bed will make you learn all your skills 5% faster for 8 hours. Sleeping in your own or a rented bed will help you learn all your skills 10% faster for 8 hours, and sleeping with a spouse, 15% for 8 hours.

Yeah, there isn't going to be much trouble keeping fed or watered in Skyrim, but it can still help with immersion. Also the way I've implemented needs mods in the past there's enough complexity to make it a bit challenging even if food isn't a problem. I also might be able to do something interesting with food spoilage, it sort of bugs me when I walk into a sealed, ancient crypt and find a barrel full of perfectly good tomatoes.

I started the game by keeping Venison and Veggie stew in my inventory, and eating it occasionally... But at some point I stopped eating altogether. Would be nice to have a hunger/thirst counter like FNV.

IMO, FoNV hardcoe mode svck'd big time. Eating should have animations, drinking should have animations, it shouldn't be just a bar that needs to be micromanaged, it needs to be more in-depth for it to be worth it.

Who's to say TES can't also be about survival? TES games would be only greater in an RPG sense if they had survivalistic aspects.

...which is why you make hardcoe mode an option, the way Fast Travel is. So complainers can't complain and those who really want this feature can make the best of it.
