Why Do People Think that the Strip is Terrible?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:19 am

I personally LOVE it! I'll agree, not many NPC's in Casinos and closed off cells, but come on, how many people do you think can actually afford to get into the Strip, let alone gamble.

I also LOVE gambling. Great way to have fun, blow caps, and make caps! I nearly broke the bank at Gommorah, and was very surprised when someone that works there walked up and comp'd me with a special suit of armor.

What do you guys think of the Strip? :)

If it have another door out and fast travel point, if it is one long street instead of 3 parts.....

I love it.

Can't get enough of BlackJack. I'm so thankful for this game, otherwise I'd spend all my money playing BJ in real life.

I think the Strip is alright, a bit modest and smaller than I expected before I got there, but I wasn't disappointed really.

I like blackjack as well, but it is far easier than any real game EVER.

I like it but its lacking
1 its broken up into parts I agree having the poor end of town broken off with the gate but the rest of the strip should be one huge strip, more npcs on the strip walking around and in the casinos seems kind of empty....

I really like the strip. But I kinda wish there were a few more things involved.

Unarmed Championship matches
More shows
Casino Heist
Lucky 38 needs to be officially re-opened.

Added a mod to add in more npc's in casino's and waiting for one that takes away the gates. I still think its too small tho.

Yeah a guy on the nexus forums is working on that, hope someone helps him with the scripting needed to make it happen.

I'd like the Strip if it had a ton more NPCs roaming around during the day and night. It feels like a ghost town with haunting background ambience that doesn't match with what little is going on in front of me. :(

The Casino games are repetitive. If you've played in Freeside, you've seen it all.

I just wish it had a damn fast travel point.

It's annoying having to sit through the excruciatng Freeside loading screen and then another.

I think the strip is okay other than getting 3 oranges is way too easy and that should be changed. However, exploring the wasteland has no comparison in my book for fun and the strip can never compete against that.

If you're playing on PC, you can use the console and add more characters. Even a deathclaw or two. Fun!

Its decent, but I was expecting a TON more.

1. More casinos

2. A shopping district (I mean comon! There should be some sort of fancy market place in the strip where you can get fancy weapons and crap like that.)

3. More gambling games

Thats about it. If they added those, the Strip would have perfect.

I think the smaller size of the strip and lack of a lot of folks in the streets is more of a design decision rather than engine limitation since it fits the post-apocolyptic theme. Also, these casinos were supposed to have only been re-opened within the last decade and are run by former tribals. Having said that, I do wish it was a little bit bigger but I still like it. I'm sure the mod community will expand it. It wouldn't be difficult to mod the luck 38 into a working casino. I'm curious how hard that is because I want to make a Mad Men themed casino cause for some reason my brain thinks that would suit it. I wonder if anybody will be ambitious and try to replicate the real strip?

It's not that people hate it, most do like it. I like it, but I feel it's a tad smaller than I expected it to be. My father even has been to the strip many times before, says it's larger than what they portray it to be. Granted, this is post-war but still.

Once you're banned from the Casino's it's pretty pointless apart from a few quests. Plus the '38 is a dingy dive....who want's to live in some dark hole.....

The gambling is extremely underwhelming. I found the strip itself to be pretty lackluster as well.

I like it alot... I killed the Securitrons at the gate of it so I can easily get in and out. The casino is a great place to gamble (of course) and it has a certain atmosphere about it that is amazing. Although it would be alot better if the Lucky 38 was reopened.

Not as many casinos as there should be, and I have yet to find an actual damn store. Other than that though I don't have any problem with it.

I like it. I wish there was a way point there and for ones inside free side. You load then load again or walk for 3 minutes then load.
Also with a luck of 7 i got booted from all the casinos in about 2 hours. wish there were more games and that you would get banned so quickly.

I saw a brahmin run through the strip. With a NCR trooper chasing it. Freakin hilarious.

@ title:

'cause it's empty.

I applaud how scripted events take place there: three girls took off their clothes in the White Luxe fountain and drew the crowd's attention, then the NCR and finally the Securitron who kept telling them that "the fountain is for pennies, not swimming!" and "please get dressed!" - excellent stuff.

But other than that even the nights are pretty quiet. Not Vivec levels of dead but nothing like you'd expect for the biggest, brightest, power-supplied spot. There are more NPC at camp Golf and that's an open area.
