Why should I play a .....

Why should I play a male char? Is the RP really worth it? When one is playing a char for at least 200 hours, it *must* be cute! Who wants to look at a ugly mug for hundreds of hours?!

If its ugly, you have only yourself to blame.

Also, do you play in constant rearview? Or do you make characters with their faces on the backs of their heads?

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?! 0.o

Why should a character be cute? You don't see it anyway, or only from behind if you play third person. And nobody, in the game, will never congratulate you on your appearance. :P

Argonians are cute...

Lol, but really play who you want, we're not here to persuade you to do anything.

I am female, but I play both genders. It just depends on HOW I want my character to develop and which gender represents the personality I want. And males don't have to be ugly. I've made a very nice looking Nord!

Because you're a male, and playing as a male helps immersion since you can associate with the character more?

Because females weren't (and still aren't) normally ones doing battle, and you want to keep things as realistic as possible?

Huh, still I fought more Stormcloaks female warriors than males, and I even found a female-only bandit camp. Then take all the housecarls. There are A LOT of warrior women in Skyrim.

You have no reason to play as a character you are not comfortable playing as. I am more comfortable playing as make characters so I rarely(not the same as never ;) ) and I am more comfortable playing human characters than I am with beast races and elves. Nothing wrong with it as far as I see it.

Really?

I would have to disagree with both of those.

Oh I realize that. Skyrim is a fantasy land where dragons nest on mountain tops and skinny girls swing 21 pound battleaxes. I'm talking real life here. Some people like to play as realisticly as possible, even in a fantasy game like skyrim.

Let me give a wonderful quote from the Morrowind GOTY edition's manual. Paraphrased because I'm lazy.

"People often ask, 'What do I do in this game?' We ask, 'What do you want to do?'"

I'm talking facts, what Skyrim really is. Just talk to Olfina or Ysolda, both will remark how they're stronger than men in many ways, and being married with a woman housecarl, I concur.

I suspect that in the next TES game, female armors will consist exclusively of a metal thong and bra. Who needs to protect vital organs, anyway.

I play in 1st person most of the time, besides when I want to remember how badass I look. So if I'm playing in 1st person, and my character makes all of those girly grunts, then I start to think I'M a girl

Play whoever you want to play, we won't judge you... Well most of us won't. Anyways you can still rp a female no matter what you are doing, there are plenty of tough females all over Tamriel. I mean just look at http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Legate_Rikke

For me it just depends on the character type. If I want to play a heavy armor warrior I generally play a male. Light armor generally a female. Mages either way. Yeah I know that there is no Strength stat in Skyrim, but I still like to pretend that males are stronger than females. Go figure.

Depends on if you want to stare at a guy's butt for 200+ hours or a chick's. Guess I know your answer.
