Every time I navigate away from these pages, I am signed out, with no other website doing this. Facebook, photobucket, youtube, yahoo, various other forums, no other site logs me out everytime I close the window, just this one, and I cannot figure out why and it is literally driving me insane. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

i sign into these boards at least 30 times a day. -________________________________-

Well, I use two computers, one Mac and a PC that I use for gaming. It happens on both. EVERY TIME on Safari, and like, once every few minutes on Google Chrome. Not every time, but enough to keep me logging in once every 5 or so visits.

I'm on safari on Mac, and I find it logs me out at odd times- If I browse away and come back, I'll still be logged in; but sometimes after posting It will log me out... :brokencomputer:

It's because you didn't unlock the northern part of the map in RDR yet.

:( :( :( THAT GAME IS SO LONG >:E

But yeah, it's very VERY strange. Like..I'll make a post, while logged in, and then hit "add reply" after I've added the post. I get mad, smack my screen, navigate away and back, and...signed in again?

I don't even know how that happens. And sometimes it'll just do it randomly, like I'll be signed in, go to facebook, come back, and I'm signed out. And while browsing until I find something I want to post in, I click on a thread and I'm magically signed in again.

If you deleted your cookies that would be it, happened to me on my old PC. My only suggestion would to reinstall your browser or switch to another one.

If you log in on one computer, you probably get logged out on the other one. Do you switch often?

I have not deleted my cookies during any of this. And it happens on TWO different PC's/browsers

1. The forums are set up so only one cookie per user is ever valid. If you sign in with multiple devices (more than one computer or a smart phone) or even with different browsers on the same computer you will be logged out of the other.

2. If you delete cookies you'll get logged out

3. You have to check the box for "Remember me" to stay logged in after a tab close. Otherwise the cookie will instantly invalidate itself.

I am always signed in on my smartphone, does that count? So is that why I am constantly signed out? It never signs me out on my smartphone, just on my PC.

The forum software was just updated to sign you out on a regular basis. I mean you specifically. A bit.

Possibly.

Yeah, it's probably the phone.

It svcks, I use the mobile site on my phone, and the IP Board theme on my desktop, but if I switch to the mobile site on my phone, it switches the desktop to the mobile site and vice versa.

And yeah, it does sign the other one out.

I see. Thanks for the replies; I guess I'll just sign myself out of my phone for a few days and see if that helps.
A mod can close this if they see fit!

I use the forum from one computer only, and one browser only. I still get logged out every few days. Rather irritating. And I do have the 'remember me' checked and I almost never delete cookies. Certainly not as often as I get logged out.

That's because your ISP keep giving you different IPs.

I've been getting logged out every 10 minutes for around four times so far. May be from the downtime, I don't know.

This forum handles staying logged in differently from most other forums in that even if you have the right cookie, if your IP has changed since you were last logged in, you will have to log in again.
