Why the game is Great

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 6:29 pm

I personally never really play games that are "RPG" this I will admit. I have playe Morrowind for the Xbox and Oblivion for my PS3 while I had alot of down time in afghanistan but I have to say this game is awesome. So many people complain about getting less and less but there has to be sacrafices in order to progress. The ES Skyrim has to be one of my favorite , of the three I played (Yes I may not have played the other games of the series because I play on my PS3 most of the time) but I have to say I am impressed with it. The Giants , Mammoths , Dragons are all great new editions not to mention its in Skyrim (Which I had always wondered bout reading all the books that laid around Oblivion.) The combat system is awesome , it may not be "RPG" not even sure I had really played a true "RPG" nor do I really care to for I love the adventure that this game has to offer. I do have to say that a spear would be a great item to have in this installment but in consoles these days you have to take some away to give more , a new look to the game. I know alot of you die hard RPG gamers hate that your "RPG" element is being removed but this game has attracted alot of different gamers ( my battle buddies alone) so I say Keep it up. You will have my Loyalty. I do also have to say it would be sweet to see Hammerfel(sp) for a Console version .

I wonder if this should be in the Skyrim forum, or perhaps the general Elder Scrolls Discussion forum. Doesn't seem like CD material to me.

First off, thank you for your service.

As for the topic at hand, I have to agree. I also find the combat system to be not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. I think they were just spoiled by games like Dark Souls that have really good combat due to that being the primary focus of gameplay. Skyrim's system is at the very least serviceable, and doesn't detract from the game imo. Loving this game so far, even with the occasional glitches. I can see myself playing this for a long, long time and can't wait to see what the expansions have in store. ^_^

Aww, yeaaaaaah.

The game is great. That cannot be reasonably denied. It's not as deep as Morrowind, true, but that argument is paper-thin compared to the higher-quality of the adventure offered. The dragon action is stellar, the Mammoths and giants are a sight to see, and it's constant fun.

Yeah the game does have alot of dragons , I was at Dawnstar trying to get to some cave when not one but two dragons attacked me at the same time ha to bad for them I had my Trusy Sword and bow with me. Silly dragons didn't know what had hit them. But yeah seriously this is a great game with out a doubt. I think it will be hard to top this game , I think it would be cool if you could ride the dragons but thinking about it , probably won't happen just imagine the glitches and lags that would be come of it. I always wanted to attack from horse back , I think that would be a sweet new perk to have instead of riding bye a bandit looking like a coward.

Appreciate your honesty OP and yes, it has attracted a lot of different gamers which is not exactly a good thing for the rpg or old TES fans. I'm sure though that even your battle buddies would love stronger rpg elements. Anyway hope TES VI can satisfy both "audiences".

I feel for anyone who has grown used to something then suddenly its starting to slowly be removed from the picture I can never imagine if tha happend to some of my passions like MMA. But I think as a Gaming company such as Bethesda they have to adapt at times to bring in new buyers , cause lets face it its a business of gaming and they deal in numbers and at times those who have been loyal for many years may see a change and not exactly approve but thats life in the end. Thank you guys who had put your input into this thread.
