Why the hell are the NCR suddenly hostile for no reason? : Fallout: New Vegas

50 hours in, about to finish the game.

Get everyone on the NCR's side, Idolised by them and suddenly I fast travel to Hoover Dam and the entire NCR army starts attacking me.

What the hell is this [censored]??

Has anyone else had this happen?

That was my first though as well.

Also have you done the quest where the president arrives yet? It's possible to turn everyone hostile if you have a weapon drawn.

If your wearing faction armor that they are hostile too you will be attacked.

What about your head? I had the Monorail guards randomly attack me in McCarran the first time I was there. I took off the Fiend Helmet I was wearing (I was wearing Wasteland clothes otherwise) and they didn't do it the next time. Could have been a glitch, there are plenty of them, but it could have been the hat too.

Could be the armor.

I got attacked by the 2 guards at the mono rail wearing CA MK II.

Came back on the mono rail from the Vegas side and they were neutral again.

Games too twitchy in Faction armor. So I don't wear any Factions armor.

If you deal with Yes Man and follow his suggestions, the NCR will stop supporting you... the game warns you of this. Did you agree to do what yes man suggests?

Nope, didn't help Yes Man. Killed Mr House. Was wearing Reinforced Combat armour and Boone's Beret.

It must be a bug. Reloaded an older save and it seems ok.

I had the Legion do this to me in same case was not hated by them was not wearing NCR armor so It a bug

Do you have ED-E with you? NCR will sometimes randomly attack it, usually around quest important NPC's

This is dumb.

Its akin to having Charon with you then being randomly attacked by every human in FO3.

You've been to an area a dozen times then for no reason they decide on the 13th they don't like your eyebot.

I've had a similar glitch when I've been traveling with ED-E; it was an NCR base, though not the Hoover Dam. My only option was to reload (he also set people off in a drug den somewhere once too, although maybe they were just tweaking and paranoid, who knows).

I had an MP come up to me at the Embassy and threaten than attack me. I killed him and lost no karma, rep, or anything. Only happened once.

LOL - did he actually mean 'reported' as in an inappropriate question? Either the guy is a genius or an idiot! Hopefully the former.

On a serious note - I've had EdE suddenly decide to shoot up the NCR randomly.

Actually, if you were there during the president's visit, the NCR will attack you regardless of your reputation if you step into the wrong places, like the stage or back of the Visitor Center.

This guy visited me too, the NCR seems to blackmail cittizen in the strip? No one talked to me about that.
