Heh. I'm not posting ten backstories....
Latest one: Sieglinde, a Nord of pure ancestry, was a tiny child when her family was caught in a major avalanche near the border of Cyrodiil. When a farmer happened along, she was barely alive. He took her home to his goodwife, and they raised her to be a proper Imperial farmgirl. They eventually told her what happened, when she questioned why her looks were so different from theirs, and why she remembered another mother and father.... She loved Hamlorth and Igraine, but she resolved to someday find her real family if any were left.
She grew to young womanhood, joined the local guard, and did very well - until the captain took a liking to her.... and was willing to enforce her submission by the expedient of killing her parents.... She went berserk, killed the captain, and ran. A few days of hiding and running, and she realized she was headed north - for home. She crossed into Skyrim close to Fort Neugrad, but felt a bit odd about the area and the guards there, and decided to head for Riverwood - a town recommended by a hunter who had shared his venison with her.
Not really knowing the lay of the land, she walked right into an ambush of Stormcloaks by the Imperials just south of Helgen. Regardless she was dressed as any Cyrodilic town guard would be, and regardless she spoke in the accents of the farmfolk of northern Cyrodiil, General Tullius swept her up as just another lying Stormcloak, and....
there she was.
