I was told to post my question in here.... Surprised that there is nowhere to ask for help.

I'm currently trying to finish the Companions quests... Playing on PS3.

After finishing Stealing Plans (told to steal plans from Swindler's Den) I was prompted to speak with Companions leaders for more quests...

I was given Rescure Mission from Vilkas which I completed and was paid for...

Now none of the Companions will speak with me besides the standard "Why did you join?" or training prompts.

Aela just says random things when I try to talk to her and a question box never even comes up.

What in the world is going on? I can't get Striking the Heart or Blood's Honor or anything else for that matter to start. I've looked all over the web for information on this issue and can't find anything posted anywhere about this specifically.

Can anyone help?

I don't know much about this glitch per se but I do know that the only way to advance the questline is to get radiant quests from Aela after Skjor dies. I always did Stealing Plans and Striking the Heart back-to-back without going to Vilkas or Farkas and I had no problems with the questline. Maybe deterring from it caused the problem?

I've heard that if you have a 'delivery' quest active you can't get another. I don't think the one's you're trying to do are delivery quests, but maybe if you have one it blocks the other Companion quests?

I've had the Companions act strangely and what I did was just do some other quests for other holds and come back later and they acted normally.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think there's a kind of two-step process involved with the "rescue mission" radiants. You find the guy, get the guy home, get the prompt to return to and dismiss . What I mean is, you could turn the quest in and get paid, but the guy is still waiting to be dismissed. I had to chase one down as they don't hang around once you get them home. I have no idea if this'll block the other Companions from giving you quests. You might want to look for that guy again to make sure you are done with him.

It could be this. I've always seen the "Dismiss" portion as an action I'm supposed to perform, but they always just leave automatically once I return to their home cell and the quest updates. I always thought that was odd, but I just went with it. I could definitely see this causing problems though.

Check your journal and see if one is open.You can only do 1 at a time.

Yeah.... I've checked everything a billion times... I did a bunch of other quests... Fast traveled all over Skyrim to make days pass quickly before going back to Aela... She speech options won't pop up. I even killed one of the Companions newbies (something I read recommended killing one of them to try and get the game going again). Nothing helped. Aela's options just won't pop up. I went to Vilkas in the first place because after I finished her quest she said to finish quests for other leaders.

I ended up getting so annoyed that I started killing off all the Companions newbies while they were sleeping. All that did was have the rest of the Companions act me which started a forever long battle between them, Whiterun guards, and me. I even tore the place apart in beast form.

I started a new game (which I didn't want to do - I'm almost at level 48 in the messed up game)... The Companions haven't been weird in this new game thus far. No idea what's going on.

You can use the Ohgma Infinium glitch to quickly get back to 48 if you don't want to struggle.

I'd say it's time for one of the major Companion quest. You probably need to speak to one of the two bosses, but if you are getting stealing the plan, you're probably up to the stage where you need to go and clear out the Glemoril Witches.

I finished Stealing Plans... No one... NO ONE... will give me another quest. I don't have one in my list... In the new game I started Aela told me to go speak with Kodiak... If I do that in the messed up game he doesn't tell me anything. Two options come up to ask him why he joined the Companions and what it means to be a Companion. That's it. Aela needs to tell me to go talk to him but she won't.

I didn't want kill the witches yet because I read someone not being able to give the witches heads to anyone and not being able to drop them since they weren't given the quest before killing the witches.

No idea what the "Ohgma Infinium glitch" is. I'm playing on a PS3 so PC commands won't work for me.

The Oghma Infinium is a book that grants 5 Ability points (not perks) in each of the skills associated with either Path of Might, Path of Magic, or Path of Shadow. You read the book once and it's either 'used up' or it disentegrates; I believe it disentegrates. It's a unique looking book so I'd recommend using the glitch even if you just use it once as intended just so you can keep the book.

The glitch allows you to read it as many times as you want and you can get all of your abilities to 100 which makes your class level 81 - I don't recommend that. I used the glitch on both of my characters: 1st character to gain some perks I 'wasted' (after I hit level 52 the hard way) and on my 2nd character to get from like 23 to like 42 because I didn't want to 'grind' my way up again.
