Wierd Yellow graphic corruption

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 4:05 pm

Let me preface this by saying not a single other game I run has issues. I am not overclocked at all. My drivers are up to date etc etc.
I have played the game issue free and then recently certain dungeons started causing this. First time was on the Sanguine Rose dungeon. I would load inside, then my bow graphic would start to flicker.
When I hit escape this is what I see. It seems like its the saved game has glitched/corrupted because if I load a previous save its gone.
I tried searching the forums to find someone else with the same issue as I would love to hear I am not the only one.
I have a huge variety of high end games and none cause a single issue.
I Raid rift, I play rage, etc etc and no graphical anomolies.

Here is an attached screenshot.

I have the same problem. I'm using the latest patch (1.3.1) and am running 11.12 (whatever the latest ati drivers are as of last week). I have two ATI 6950s in crossfire. My only started happening with either the 1.3.1 patch or the ati driver update/configuration thing.

Did you or anyone else figure out how to get rid of it?

That's corrupt shaders. Verify your game cache.

I am having this exact same issue. Like you though I am only able to narrow it down tot he ATI driver update 11.12 or skyrim update as I have not played the game since I have had both updates.

I am running a Phenom II 955 with a Radeon 5970. Everything was running perfectly fine before and I am actually in a town not a dungeon so the dungeon has nothing to do with the issue imo. Something was borked here.....

Edit: I have also noticed the HDR is bugged to hell, everything is extremely bright and has a grey tinge now as if the scene is being rendered too bright (like when you jack up the gamma settings in a game). Also at one point the corruption was so bad that after looking at the sky and then walking into a store (to see if reloading the town would fix the issue) the entire store was lit up the HDR coming from all over the place, it was like the sun was inside the store, i left the store and the entire town was now super saturated and eventually the screen turned 95% white to the point where i had to stare at the ground and even then could only say black outlines of certain textures.

Quite ridiculous

Ok I am going to put up some pics so you guys can see what I am talking about. It is easily reproducible by entering a building and then entering the town again. I verified the game cache to no avail as well.

Ok so the first pic is before entering the store. You can see already the scene is far too bright. Also when hitting escape I have the same yellow corruption the OP linked above.

The following pics were taken after entering the store and re-entering the town.

Try This

1. Right click on the game in the Steam library and select Properties
2. Navigate to the "Local Files" tab
3. Click "Verify integrity of game cache"

I had written in the post above that this did not fix the problem

this is caused by using the beta/hotfix/preview drivers that implement a fix for crossfire.

It's the tweaks being applied.

So far I've ONLY ever seen it while running crossfire and then using the "ESC" key to bring up the system menu like it is in that first screeshot.

The rest of the game doesn't exhibit the symptom anywhere else.

While it's not entirely normal.. it is a side effect of some of the tweaks..

And while it is not overly common.. it happens to just a few people... seems to be most prevailent on HD5xxx cards...

I believe a specific FSAA setting causes this too.

Ok but that doesnt explain the HDR bug in the pictures I posted

Rolling back to 11.10 drivers has fixed the problem it looks like. I also havent tried installing the application profiles so ill try that next and see if it is still free of corruption

Catalyst profiles installed and still no issues. Looks like driver issue after all.
