Is my wife trying to kill me?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 5:40 pm

I married Camilla Valerius and I gotta tell you, we've not had the greatest marriage. First of all I was kidnapped on our wedding night. I went to my room expecting her to follow me at any moment to enjoy our first night of bodily contact, and my thane was in the very next room so I felt quite safe. but the next thing I remember is waking up in an abandoned shack. I could never quite explain what happened and she never seemed to care. To make things worse this guy Faendal keeps visiting our house. I often catch him sneaking out of our house once I arrived and once I found him in my very bedroom.

Up until this point we had been living in Witherun, in walking distance of Riverwood, which this jerk supposedly live in, but now he essentially seems to be living in my house. He came to our [censored] wedding, he better show our holy pact some respect. But he keeps trying to win my wife's affection, and what's worse, he seems to be succeeeding. It could just be my imagination, but I see them throwing gentle, longing looks at each other, and it's stressing me out. Once, when questioning him, the ass had the nerve to say "I only wish Camilla felt about me the way I feel about her". Now that was it! Almost killed him on the spot. As soon as he was out of the door I told my wife off for good. We were packing our bags and moving to Riften.

Now, I can't say I'm blameless in all this. I can never really find the words to ask her how her day was, or even tell her that I love her. And as our relationship became more strained I spent more on the road, with various good looking female companions at that. Often dragging them home. Most of the time she would just be sitting in her chair with the saddest look in the world in her eyes. I tried to cheer her up. Buy fancy decoration, leave my thane at home so she had someone to talk to, and after a while they did seem to socialize a bit. But the poor girl never even seems to go out, I certainly never take her anywhere.

So, back to my current predicament. After moving to Riften I never saw Faendel again, hopefully she never managed to communicate where we were going. Granted he was in Riften for our wedding, it's such a long way to travel that I doubt he could make a habit off it. However, my wife seems to get more and more angry with me. Always throwing me snide looks and if I knock something over she practically screams my head off. So I started staying out more, on my latest visit, yes, I'm such a sad person I feel like nothing but an unwanted guest in my own house, I saw something that really freaked me out.

I had been away for a long time and I couldn't find my wife in the living area. I went down to the basemant and found her working angrily at the alchemy table. I never even knew she had any knowledge of alchemy, quite the shock. She throws some suspicious looks over her shoulder and I walk over to her to get my part of our business earnings, yes, all I ever seems to ask my wife about is how much money she has earned for me, quite the motive. But anyways, as we were talking I glanced down on her recipe, and my heart sank as I saw it was for a "damaged healt potion". At that very moment our eyes met, and you can't believe the hatred I saw. Granted, who could blame her? My earnings suggested I had been gone for 16 days, and the first words out of my mouth was about money. I try to consider her feelings in all this as well. But this is getting quite scary. She doesn't even want to cook for me anymore, and if she does, how will I know it's not poisoned?

Perhaps you should see a counciler? The Priest who delivered your vows I am sure would be happy to lend an understanding ear. That is what they are there for after all. And maybe take her out, someplace safe to be sure and have a deep heart to heart with her.
(I  your imersion rp)

She's having an affair with the housecarl and eyeing your assets. Hope you haven't put next of kin on your will.

I think my char cheats on his wife. I rent a room in an inn, sleep in it, and the hot Redguard chick goes 'need anything else?' when I wake up.

Nah, just an innkeeper. They show you to your room and ask if you need anything else, but they're stay there if you go to sleep. So, rush to your room, sleep, then notice the innkeeper say 'need anything else?' when you wake up. It wasn't Saadia, just someone someplace.

The Gods gave you an axe...it solves a lot of problems.

And it's way cheaper to pay the fine than pay the lawyers...

Great story

Great read.

And yes, if the first thought that comes through your mind when you come home after 16 days and you see your wife bend over over a table is how much money she made, then she is in her right to poison you.

Aerin saved Mjoll's life, surely they can still be friends.

Nope. Not when I come home and she's in bed, and he's in the room with her just staring at her. What a creep.
