Wii game for a wee boy

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:25 pm

Hi folks,

We're lookiing for a Wii game for a 5 year old boy. He's an active kid, sports minded, and loves anything on wheels. Ideally it wouldn't be a new title in order to keep the price down (buy a kid a $50 game and he plays with the box ;) We have the Wii Fit board as a controller option beseides the standard Wii controllers. He loved Mario Cart, but it's still a bit expensive and rare for used versions.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Maybe some sort of sonic game? I once looked after my best friend's nephew for an afternoon and let him play sonic for a while, he seemed to enjoy it. Some of the older ones shouldn't be too expensive.

Wii Sports resort maybe, I haven't looked at wii games in a while, but when I had it, it was really fun. Though it requires wii motion plus, so you would have to buy that too.

Thanks for the replies.

I should have mentioned that we have Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Fit+. The LIttle Dude does love the Wii Sports Resort. Works up a massive sweat playing sword fight!

Super Mario Glalxy is fun, and there's a good deal of arm bending and shaking in it. And it's mario.

Any Mario game is awesome, I personally love the new Super Mario Bros. and my wife loves both Galaxys.

Wii Sports Resort is a good one, has an assortment of games a 5 year old could play.

Wii Play

Also, there’s another one that any kid would love! The game comes with a placement mat. There are all kinds of games you can play(On a game). There’s a running one. Run in place on the mat and beat your friend. Who by the way is one the same mat since it's large enough for two(Split-Screen). I forgot what it's called since I played it at a persons house. Must find out what it’s called!

Or give him Zelda: Twilight Princess. Hell, I was playing OoT around his age.

Mario Galaxy and Okami are probably too hard for a couple more years. In fact I'll even say that if you're going to take Suffca's advice you should just get him OoT off of the wii market place thing if you have a gamecube controller or the classic controller for the wii remote. And for my recommendation I think you should just break down and get him mario kart whether you have to get it new or used, the control scheme is perfect for a kid his age and you won't get better replay value for the money on the Wii.

Get him a football and some goal posts? All in RL and cheaper than a game.
