Can you play mods if you buy and download it through Steam? I am a huge Elder Scrolls fan (and have been for a very long time) but I have never played the Fallout games before. But they seem like they might be pretty cool. So I want to give New Vegas a shot. I plan to buy it through steam (nowadays I prefer to buy digital copies because I lose so many discs) , but I want to know if mods work with the steam version?

There is no non-Steam version, but yes, mods work fine. I have about a dozen on already.

The game requires Steam, so don't worry we are all in the same boat on this one. (They have to work!)

Really they don't have a physical disc version like Oblivion?

There's a disc but everyone has to ask Steam (at least once, anyways) if we can play it.

The disc version is still Steam, just installs (onto Steam) via local copy, the launcher requires Steam to run, and you'll only get updates via Steam ...

Yes, I have it from Steam and while I'm not using many mods that require esp. files yet, I'm using some and a ton of the texture mods I used in FO3.

I'm planning on transferring my t-shirt mod to New Vegas soon by the way.
