And people thought this trait was going to be too In-Your-Face.... even taking into account the Monty Python references, there hasn't been anything as ridiculous as the "Moo I Say" brahmin of previous titles.
To be honest, I think I'd prefer if it were a little more in your face. Because since they went out of their way to make it an optional trait, they could have really gotten away with doing some crazy things with it, something that the trait description implied they would, but the encounters I've found so far seemed fairly subtle, and are the sort of thing that wouldn't really have bothered me if they appeared as eater eggs even without the player choosing an optional trait, of course, I've only found two myself, but even so, the others I know about seem a lot more subtle than a lot of things in Fallout 2. And while the gratuitous pop culture references in Fallout 2 were the sort of thing that some liked and some didn't, but I thought that's the reason that Wild Wasteland was created, so Obisidian could include whatever crazy encounters they like without bothering players who like to keep their Fallout experience reletively serious, because they can simply choose not to select the trait, and it's just slightly dissappointing that it wasn't put to greater use.
Now, I'm not saying that I don't like Wild Wasteland, I like the idea, and I even like some of the encounters I know of from it, I'm just saying that Obisidian could have done a little more with it, especially since you need to spend one trait slot, of which you only have two, to get it.
But yes, Wild Wasteland is a trait, which can only be chosen at the start of the game, so if you want to use it, you're just going to have to start a new character.
