Yes you do. That's part of the reason why Fallout uses such old music in their games. It's been around so long that it's now in the public domain and free to use by anyone.

I love Elvis but his music just doesn't fit Fallout as much. And as stated the cost of licensing one of his songs would cost tons. You can add his music if you want. That's what I'm doing

There are only 3 songs I want by Elvis in this game. I think they'd fit lyrically, but music wise it would be too "hard".

1. "One Night of Sin"

2. "Such a Night"

3. "I'm Coming Home"

If the achievement list is any indication that "G.I. Blues" and "Return To Sender" is in the game, then yes. But after listening to the music they've released so far I'm thinking it's only a nod to those songs.

One word Divergence The timeline started to diverge in 1945 Elvis Started his career in 1954. But to get to the real point you mistake the point of FNV its to bring back that "rat pack" 1940's to 50's feel. Elvis is the opposite of that just because you like there music dosen't mean they are fitting for the setting sure i like boston but i don't think peace of mind would be good on the radio.

are we all forgetting the kings is a(somewhat) prominent faction....so to say it doesnt fit the history is invalid.... also to have an elvis based gang and no elvis songs makes no sense to me.

Elvis was big. You know, there is a greaser faction with their head, The King. ^_^
And if Elvis isn't Vegas... The Rat Pack Vegas, by the way, would fit into the starting 60s.

Elvis became a Vegas sensation in the 70's. Past Fallout's time. But we have The Kings, if his music is in the game you won't hear any complaints from me

It's all about licensing. Remember that 'I don't want to set the world on fire' was supposed to be the main theme for Fallout 1, but they couldn't licence it (Bethesda pulled off a coup by doing so in Fallout 3).

Assuming they came to some arrangement with the Graceland Estate (don't see why not - introduce a whole new generation to The King), then it will be very very early Elvis, not the big-band Vegas Elvis. Probably Hound Dog or something (since there is reference to such in the game)

I wouldn't mind if there were some Elvis songs in the game.

However the liscensing costs would be through the roof....so I'm guessing unless a miracle happens there will be no Elvis.

Past the divergence, but if The King's School of Impersonation is anything to go by, Fallout universe Vegas did develop somewhat akin to our own. Heck, if the world had just stopped Vegas' development in the 40s to 50s, then Reno would have been the one to grow and grow and grow. And we already saw what Reno is. Small.
