Will Crysis run on my computer?

Post » Wed Jul 27, 2011 3:43 pm

I am thinking of buying it.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
4 GB RAM
Intel Core i5 CPU 2.67 Ghz, 4 cores.
1 TB Memory
MSI R5770 Hawk Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit Video Card

Also since we are on the topic of computers I am thinking of buying 4 more gigs of ram, I can just plug them in like the first 4 right?

Go http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/, and type in Crysis. Download the little thing when it asks and then it will tell you if you can run it or not.

I'll bet you can run it as even my pathetic computer can run it (albeit on low settings). If you really want to see how well it will run, however, I recommend downloading the demo. I downloaded the demo from Gamespot, but several other places have it. Anyway, Gamespot requires creation of an account to download files, but that doesn't take too long. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/crysis/download_6181835.html?sid=6181835&tag=files%3Btitle%3B1

Depending on your screen resolution you won't be getting much over 30 fps average on full settings with that setup. If you turn the settings down a fair bit it should be playable.

Eh stay far away from that site, it is very inaccurate.

OT: I would say yes, it will run Crysis, its not going to max it though, I ran at about high settings with a 4890, around the same power as the 5770.

I had it on max (High at the time when I played it since I only had XP) and it ran perfect on an 8800gtx, 2gb of RAM, and a 2.6ghz Core 2 Duo so I think he will be fine.

It should run fine on high settings. The 5770 is still a pretty powerful GPU. On the RAM, it depends on how many RAM slots you have left. It's best to try to get modules that are identical to the ones you have now.

I run it at about 30 FPS on a bad day at high settings at a resolution of 1920x1080 with this setup:

Intel i5 'Sandy Bridge' 2500K 4x 3.3 GHz, 4 GB of G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 SDRAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 460.

Crysis isn't PC melting on all but the highest settings. Most new-ish PCs should be able to handle it on at least low.

What about the fact that it is only for 32 bit operating systems?

Ya IDK If I trust that site, I run Oblivion without any lag at all and it is unsure if I can run it.

It runs fine on a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. I run it on Win7 x64 all the time.

Nealy all 32-bit games support Win7/Vista x64 via Wow64 (Windows On Windows).

You shouldn't have a problem imho, but I would highly recommend switching it to DirectX9.0c instead of the DX10. I decided to buy crysis for myself when it was on sale on steam and ran into problems on the last level. My graphics kept freaking out and I couldn't play it at all until I went to the config window forcing it to go to DX9.

Running a system that seems a bit similar to yours the only difference being I have a core i7, 6 gigs of ram, and the 5870 ATI card. Running W7 64bit ultimate, but I doubt that makes any difference in the game. With everything set to max i'll average about 45 to 50 fps sometimes up to 60fps+ if I get lucky. Though I will get bogged down during the higher end graphical sessions.

Try the demo. It will give you an accurate idea of how the game will run on your PC. The demo allows you to mess with the game's settings to find those to your liking, is free, and is the most accurate way of figuring out how your computer will actually handle the game.
