will dawnguard raise your level cap?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 5:37 am

I already have a level 81... and if level cap is raised skill caps would also have to be raise and new perks added or bethesda could add new skill trees.

Unless dawnguard puts new skill trees in the game, highly unlikely, then I don't see how it can raise your level cap.

It's bound to. 81 is just a number when all skills are maxed to 100 - it's not a goal or achievement, unless it's one you set yourself. In which case, you shouldn't be asking for more more more, because they alredy went overboard with 81.

Dawnguard is supposedly adding two skill trees so they would have to raise level cap to add new perks especially if u have a level 81

The two skill trees added have perks that are unlocked by kills/feeds, not levels. So no raised level cap.

I've seen that it's perk trees, rather than skill trees. Perks earned through doing actions rather than levelling up a skill and picking a perk

Much of the info comes via bits and pieces related by other users from the game informer article and other sources.

edit: How much is accurate? *shrugs*

I dont think there will be a level cap mainly because that level is not common unless you play the game ALOT or you glitch, they dont need to add more because level 81 is hard to get to as it is.

After having read the GI article myself, I can clarify for those who are not yet informed properly: The level cap will not need to be raised. The 2 new "skill" trees are a lycanthropy and vampirism tree, respectively. Each one has perks that can only be gained by performing feeding and use of maul kills as a werewolf, or feeding and kills as a vampire, respectively.

No additional levels are added, as a Level 1 or a Level 81 can both use those new perk trees if they so choose, but the only benefits from either tree are perks and bonuses to your abilities as either a werewolf or vampire.

NOTE: Since it's not specific, I would bet that the Lycanthropy tree will be able to accomodate additional werecreatures, due to it's name and design. Perhaps that would allow for the werebear from the gamejam video to be included either with Dawnguard or with a future DLC. I hope so, at least.

Personally, instead of more levels, I would kill for a way to remove skills that I upgraded to. I upgraded Illusion quite a bit, and don't even use those spells. I would love to put those points in skills I actually use.
